Microsoft Respond To Concerns Over Xbox1

Most of what we have seen is really just the end of the current console gen, typically from what I have read before during this time in the gen, console game sales start dropping and then once next gen arrives they start booming again.

Do you think that's going to happen with a sluggish economy and more gaming dollars being spent on other platforms? MS obviously doesn't. Is it even remotely possible that their analysts know something that you do not, or are they literally the dumbest company in the history of the world who will go completely bankrupt within the next fiscal year due to their investment in a product that ZERO PEOPLE want?

If you believe the latter, would you care to make a wager? ;-)

The gaming side of microsoft is utter shite. So what's left, a tv box? Skype box? lol that will sell well for $500

Uhhh.... some of those exclusives looked damn cool, and most major releases are multiplatform anyway. Even if you don't like their policies, "utter shite"? Really? If you're not even going to pretend to be rational, there's no use in trying to communicate with you.

All Microsoft is doing is stopping Piracy, We caused it to be like this. The only ones to blames is the modders. Not Microsoft.

Piracy on concoles is pretty hard and not widespread. This is to stop used games, not piracy.

And how would you do that? Bring your entire system over to his house when he already has an X1? It's stupid.

You can DL and play your games on a friend's system through your account. You can have up to 10 accounts linked so that all of them can play the same game, just not at the same time (lending).

You can DL ISO files and play your games offline and online. I know I have a box that does that. They are preventing modded offline boxes with this. Modders caused this and Microsoft has a solution.

Bullshit. That had no details.

What was clear was you can only lend a game once, and to a friend who has been so for 30 days.

The whole 'family' thing was vague and had no detail. Nice asspull.

They are doing what is best for the company. The console is not even out yet. They are going to make changes to it.

If you do not like the way they do things then dont fucking buy it simple as that.

What changes?

They'd have to do some drastic hardware changes so close to release...

"On Xbox One, having all games exist as cloud-connected downloads enables new features like the ability to access your entire library at a friend's house with a single login or loaning games to up to ten "family members" digitally and remotely."

"You'll be able to link other Xbox Live accounts as having shared access to your library when you first set up a system and will also be able to add them later on (though specific details of how you manage these relationships is still not being discussed). The only limitation, it seems, is that only one person can be playing the shared copy of a single game at any given time. All in all, this does sound like a pretty convenient feature that's more workable than simply passing discs around amongst friends who are actually in your area."

Hmm... It looks like you are spreading some misinformation there, Jared. It's almost like you came to a conclusion before gathering all the facts, and then you ignore all facts that may interfere with your conclusion.

I love how some of you guys speak for the entire world with your generalizations.

The fact is, Microsoft is the best provider of technology in the world. The Xbox One is going to be a great console. The most complaints I hear are about the Xbox One being always online. The way I see it, if you don't have internet you shouldn't be looking to get a next-gen console. In a world that revolves around the internet, I fail to see how that is a bad feature.

Like he said above, change isn't a bad thing. Most people are flocking to Sony because it's 100 bucks less. You get what you pay for.
People without internet or unreliable internet still want to play games even if the net is down. Nothing about nextgen nullifies that. Fyi the Sony machine has better hardware specs. You're basically paying more for just the Kinect which I personally don't care about.

People also want to buy and sell games like they traditionally have, this new model is much less convenient with no benefits to the user. I don't think people are being unreasonable about either aspect.

They went from DDR5 Ram to DDR3 Ram. how is that drastic? Xbox is going to rely on Clould do to alot of there stuff unlike PS where the console is doing everything.

Stop complaining and go buy a PS4.

The user defines who is in their "family". They don't need to be related.

Additionally, you can log into your account from a friend's house, if you bothered to read the article, which you of course did not.

Its also not just internet at this point xbox live will not be available on xbone for over half the worlds population...none of the middle east, Africa or Asia will be able to use one for who knows how long...
Its not one or two things anymore its an overall attitude and approach...

Oh, xbox actually said who you can define as family? Maybe it was you who didn't read shit.

And you know what I can do right now? I can take a disk to a friends house and play without 1 hour online DRM. Such innovation! Giving me what I have... but worse.

Without xbox live... they can't authenticate games. Without that, they can't play. Refer to chart at original post of places where you can play xbox.

Tell your friend who has 1.5Mbps Internet that you want to come over and play one of your games, but to start downloading the night before because it will be 10-15GB... take away literally all of his bandwidth so he can't play online.

You can say that he should upgrade his Internet, but welcome to the real world.

How often can you change what 10 accounts are linked? I don't know about you, but there is no fucking way even my most trusted friend is going to have my account information on his system. He can buy his own games or borrow one of my PS4 games.

"For one, a family member doesn't have to be a "blood relative," he said, eliminating the extremely unlikely possibility that the Xbox One would include a built-in blood testing kit. For another, they don't have to live in the primary owner's house—I could name a friend that lives 3,000 miles away as one of my "family members" Mehdi said."

Huh. That might be a little more difficult if you have to trade the physical media.

It looks like there are some benefits to digital distribution after all. For one thing, it saves fuel.

Personally, if I was a console player, I think it's pretty darn cool that I can visit my friends in Seattle and show them the games I enjoy without having to pack all the physical media. Or they could just look at my library from their couch while I'm still here in San Francisco, browse what I have and play whatever... Cool stuff.

Also IDK how it works where everyone is from but internet companies are starting data caps and also hard limits on pricing plans and overage charges and such...so DLing games and using online computing may end up being a lot more expensive then it is now in a very short time...
