What "dont" you like about the game so far?

Really likes to throw things at you.
No mid range game. From what me and a friend played, we noticed that the mid range game is pretty much a game of chicken. Since you have to commit to whatever it is you are doing, you are assed out if you either get countered, or are happy that you are the one who won the chicken game.
This is a simpler version of what I am trying to say.

No, you have to hold back to block. That means you cannot advance and block. You will eventually learn how to time things so you don't have to actually "walk" before blocking, but there's no way to just put up your shields and wait for an attack, nor can you buffer forward movements or specials while blocking.

back to block feels really good. Back dash invincibility makes applying pressure awkward when your normals are so short.

The footsies will evolve as we get used to the game so I'm not too worried there. Zoning characters like deathstroke with multiple hit projectiles will make life very hard for rushdown players and people who rely on armor.

The dash does feel awkward to me too. Dashing forward is NOT safe at all as you are highly vulnerable at this time. This leads me to believe that zoners will be very strong at first.

Batman will be soooooooooo good in this game. His bats allow him to dash forward safely to apply pressure. They also allow him to zone and make every unsafe move he has safe. I might just stick with him he is so good.

its an every other fighting game besides MK, VF and Soul Calibur thing. It may seem daunting at first, but you'll get it. Just play the game longer than a day before giving up.

QFT.. the canned pressure strings coupled with the fact that if there is a gap in your pressure you opponent will simply start walking backwards will really make it hard to pressure people....

Depending on how obvious/fast/safe/common overheads are, you can probably hold Down Back to block most things in place. I know this is the case in street fighter where fast lows are common and most overheads are slower.

I'm at work, but I haven't even tried using it for safety. Do you maintain the godlike backdash invulnerability off a cancelled back dash in injustice?
I honestly have no idea, I haven't really messed with dash cancelling in the demo yet. I should start trying some stuff out today. If you do keep the invincibility though, this could be very good.

Tried it yesterday, yes you do. However due to the super vulnerability of a forward dash I couldn't bait my roommate into getting within my reach to start anything.... this is the main reason why I feel zoning will be very strong.

That this game lacks footsies and a mid-range game(which is false even in the demo, but I guess we're ignoring Nightwing, Catwoman and any other characters with crazy reach)

That zoning characters are suddenly OP because you can't dash cancel, ignoring armor, Flash's trait, Aquaman's shield, air dashes, dive kicks... Yeah. Not to mention background interactables can be thrown and some have invincibility frames in their start-up to boot.

That characters without armor and non-zoners are going to get destroyed... Um. Flash can slow down time. Fast mix-ups(another stupid complaint) for a good part of the cast, too. Pressure has added benefit of Roman Cancels if I remember correctly as well. Armored moves are generally punishable through block, or crouch and whiff punish. So, uh.. derp

Almost none of these complaints are legitimate; it's all because they only play MK(I'm pretty much the same, I have mediocre experience with Skullgirls and Soul Calibur.) and they're throwing wild conclusions out while being so painfully ignorant of all of the mechanics in this game(see above). Dash cancels are really only sort of a problem compared to crappy walk speeds, and even then the biggest problem is still that you don't play other fighting games.

tl;dr Learn what you're talking about and before spouting shit and complaining. It's literally day 1 of a seven month old demo and people are already complaining. Expecting this game to be like MK when NRS has stated and showed that it's trying to take qualities of all games is stupid. GGs though

Wowww...people are really complaining about dash canceling and no block button...MK must've truly been there first fighting game.

Not every fighting game has dash canceling and not every fighting game has a block button. This just happens to be one of those games. I know it may be hard for some to adjust, but instead of complaining, learn to adapt.

The people complaining are some of the reasons why some predict the capcom guys will body us in this game...

giving up? o hell no hahaha just gotta adapt to it, i plan on having no life for a couple weeks when this comes out haha.

LMAO at all the MK players bitching about dash cancelling. I love you guys but I knew from the start that this would be one of the three major complaints about this game from our community tbh, and you're simply going to have to adjust. My only problem so far is the negative edge, and I can turn that off when I actually get the game. That and I don't really see much use in doing the dash cancels out of strings so far but maybe with time or an explaination I'll get it. Everything else seems really solid to me. :)
See, its the reptile players that understand because we had shit for dash anyway :)

Exing moves feels unwieldy.
Lack of block button takes some getting used to.
Ex moves have been one of my absolute favorite things about this game. Almost all of them are straight up hit confirmable and I love that sooooo much.

And there are mid range characters.

Stage Interactions are actually useful. They are broken in this build and devs have said multiple times that they have been tweaked and rebalanced.

I'm sorry but if you're an MK purist then more often than not you're gonna have a hard time with this game especially if you're the kind that hates other fighters because they aren't NK.

1. The movement in this game feels so clunky somehow
2. Some animations are too long (stage transitions, WW's stupid down, forward, 1, meter burn throw)
3. First two bars of meter barely visible
4. Stage transitions happen too often
5. Not a fan of how a round ends
6. Throw range is too short
7. Blocking is not so rewarding like in other Fighting Games (especially because you can't block environment and some special moves like lex's missles)
