I also just thought of something, but since you can combo off U4 as an anti-air, you should also be able to use it as a punish for moves like Scorpion's teleport and other things that leave the opponent in a arial spinning state. That would also increase the chances of getting a Toasty Boost.

Cartwheel having Toasty properties also makes it that much better as a combo ender compared to hair whip.

Having so many ways of getting a Toasty really adds to her game. Sadly, it's not common to get the Toasty Guy. Q_Q

I must be the most unlucky duder in the world cause I end all my combos in cartwheel/actually use U4 often and I've never had a single Powdered Toast Man pop up T_T

Though the only way I know to combo off U4 consistently (mid-screen) is to use meter? Is there something I'm missing? Also Urichinan I dunno about using the U4 instead of your usual ball punish. I mean a Toasty Boast is nice but, there is no point centering your gameplan around around the soung guy poping out randomly. Unless you're getting like 40% meterless with an U4 combo in which case... Go for it xD

Urichinan

@Urichinan
IIRC you can get U4 > Dash 1 > Scream > JIP Ender for around 30% mid-screen if you hit them out of a jump slightly above you. I don't know if it'd work off a punish though.

And no, you definitely don't want to base your game around it. But if you can find ways to incorporate Toasty affected moves into your game (Like Kabal) it could benefit you greatly.

Personally, I'll try to squeeze more U4's into my combos that don't deal much damage, from starters like b1,2 in the corner. Just for the chance of getting the Toasty Boost. Luckily, my new 4,4 BnB needs to use U4 anyway. So it not only is the best route to go on, but it also carries Toasty properties!

So one thing that I don't ever see anybody do is straight Levi Cancels after a scream to build meter, just like how Kabal does dash cancels.

It looks like after a scream you can get one cancel in before a Jump Punch to stay on the same side, or you can do 3 cancels, but then your jump in punch hits them in the back and switches sides.

Do you guys think it's worth the meter?

It can be sketchy! Levi's don't build a lot of meter. Doing so can screw up your jip position. But with the time I have made a combo finish that builds a meter but looses a lot of the damage, I don't do it tho because sindel is hard

I think that combo finish was scream, instant levi low spit, late ish Levi high spit, Levi, Levi, Levi, 111 levi(+15 - +16), 11b24 spit

It's not very useful. It kills your JIP positioning, and it doesn't build you much meter. At the very least you can do 1 for a tad bit more. However, it's really strong for resets. Since you're killing time with it, you can go for a high/low mixup out of their recovery from Scream. Or you can do 4 of them into 3,1 > Levifireball > 44 Pressure. You can also do Levifireball > Levicancel > 3,1/2,1 Pressure.

So, don't do it when you want damage, but it's great when you're going for mixups.

What do you guys think of burning a meter for enScreams after jump kicks? I mean like midscreen isn't that great since you'll get a small combo, pressure or use like 11B24, fireball/311 xx levi xx highfireball to push them away from you. However is the corner you can get like 32ish (40 if they don't block) + stand up (maybe more I just fiddled with it yesterday) if you burn a meter on it that is...

KH_Captain What would you have in mind other wise? I think 44, 1, yell is fine. If you hit them while they were standing it should work fine. If I ever catch someone out of the air with 44 or if they look too far for some reason I will just go with dash, 111 xx Hairwhip or something. Guess I should burn meter to get a scream instead?
sorry been away for a while. and depends if it will get you the round i would for sure use meter but with practice you will be able to tell when you can and cant land the yell. in that case i usually just d1 cartwheel or something but you can land the 1 yell for full combo depending on where you hit em in the air. and god whats with all this toasty boost talk who was it that discovered the sindel toasty boost this person definitely deserves my praise. i cant believe its the same as the stage fatality and i couldnt think of that lol. thank you whoever you are.

Rajjaka

Urriapáh !!
never thought of exscrem when you hit the airkick in the corner...... .... how much damage can you get?

CanadianBaconX

Let's see how long this lasts...
Rajjaka When I tried it out, I got like... 32% + 2% chip (8% if they don't block) + forced stand-up with...

jik, low air fireball, d1 xx enScream, 31b2, 111 xx levi xx lowfireball

Dunno if you can get more or do similar with an easier combo, I only fiddle with this for a bit... Might do some more today :3

has anybody been using b12 as a anti-air for a big combo punish on a jump in? like if ur spacing is good and you whiff the b1 but connect with the 2 you can yell and jip etc. for a 38% combo max i believe. Ive been playing around with this as of late. The combo i do is...b12(whiff b1 connect 2) yell, jip b3,f2, dash b12, dash 1, dash 111, step-up/hairwhip. I feel hairwhip is better to end this combo than step-up because step-up could drop the opponent before finishing/ending the combo. Just something i wanted to share/ask/add. lol.

I like this one but haven't ever done it online.
You can NJP after the 2 as well to yell and then combo.
Did you try that variation?
No sir I havent. I was just trying to see what was the max damage sindel can captiolize on a anti-air punish. Doing a NJP and then yell jip b3f2 b12 1 111 is 37 percent and a bit easier to pull off. Ive only done the b12 anti punish a few times online. It does deal 38% max damage and if u enhance either the step-up/hairwhip its only 39%. I say thats pretty good if you can pull it off.

and are u talking about doing a standing 2(yell) NJP then combo etc. or NJP then 2(yell) combo etc.?

CongoFury

Levi Cancel Sorcery
Oh when I say 2 NJP I mean the 2 off her whiffed b1 2.
I think there's not much NJP options in her combos but this one's reliable.
The same goes for the Shokan Diva, besides her low grab are there any other NJP combo options?
Oh ok. I understand now. No i havent done a NJP after 2. Although I did whiff b1 hit 2 NJP yell b3f2 it just knocks them to the other side and it looks reliable after trying it... but it only caps at 23% damage, and if u change it to doing a whiff b1 hit 2 NJP yell JIP b12 1 111 hairwhip its only 29% max. and besides im never good enough at reacting fast enough to a NJP once it connects lol.

And as far as the Shokan Queen goes. I havent really found any other combo options for her aside from her standard ones. I normally just NJP b2 1+2 anti-air grab when a player is jumping at me to much. Its a simple 36% combo. Thats my go to combo tho I havent really tried any others.

getting too fancy for me i just do the same 4 or 5 basic combos lol.
Lol. I understand sir. I was just trying to see other combo options to maximize damage at any given chance available to sindel if players are more combo oriented and not so good with properly zoning with her.

CongoFury

Levi Cancel Sorcery
What do you think?
I like it. lol.
I havent seen the b12 string it self used in a manner like this.
I wonder if any of her other combo starters could lead to a NJP combo.
Like maybe jip 2 yell omit jip (whiff b1)2 NJP etc.
Hm. I might have to play around with this a bit the next time i get on.

Shes a tough one to play, anyone that has any sort of advancing special, teleport, armoured move, or fast normal strings is going to give you problems.

She has slow normals, bad pokes, low on-the-fly damage (i say this because her b3f2 is tricky to land in game).

To do fast/instant levi cancels, input DDU(Block) and hold block.

Fast d4-levi cancels can be buffered, i usually do it as dd4u but d4du also works, again hold block after hitting up and you cancel on the early frames.

Cancelling strings into levi~fireball is a good way to get some safe meter building and chip, and cancelling levitates into grab is also a good idea.

After her combo starters into a yell, you can take a JIP 111 levi to put yourself on the most advantage and earn yourself a mixup, though outside the corner you need to take a little dash which takes finesse.

fr stack Sadly the majority of things you saw in the combo video, while awesome, is pretty difficult to get going in an actual game. To get max damage with Sindel you usually need to land yourself a B3F2 which is slow as fuck and you're not gonna hit unless it's a punish or a jip.

What you'll probably hit people with most of the time is either 44/fireballs/cartwheels/212.

If you land the B3F2 starter then it's best to go for full combo. There is no reason to give up 45% damage, that's a big chunk and can give her a good life lead.

If you want to go to pressure then do 31 dash and not 111 xx levi cancel. 111 xx levi cancel will give you more advantage but puts your further away, making you lose said advantage. Unless you wanna do a 44 after it, do a 31 dash for actual pressure. Mr. Mileena

212 is a very flexible string that can pretty much lead to everything Sindel has:
2 xx levi, 21 xx levi are both great
21 xx cartwheel is a high, low, overhead
2 xx cartwheel is high, overhead
21 xx low fireball is a high, low, low (but hella punishable >.>)
21 xx scream combos and is easy to hit confirm
2 xx yell combos but can't really hit confirm that
212 causes a knock down and a free OTG fireball
Inexperienced people will usually get hit by the low 1 and sometimes will also fall for the chargeable 2 at the end
Oh and all 2, 21 and 212 are 0 on block :3

by far the most obnoxious matches for sindel are Lao and Kabal first and formost, but then again they are a bitch to fight in general regardless of which character you use. next is def mileena just about everything whiffs and fireball game is very tough to be effective with vs her a lot of baiting involved with levi cancels. my personal next two pains in the ass are Kitana who beats sindel in almost every facet controls the air, super obnoxious up close. Last pain in the ass for me is Jade armor for days and almost impossible to effectively zone faster normals better range better pokes. she loses a handful of other matchups but they are a bit more manageable at least. she only wins in a few matchups most are even or lose. gotta really like the character and have fun not minding losing. definitely not a character you wanna use as a tournament player looking to be effective. i dont think ive ever seen a primarily sindel player in top 8. Mr. mileena got 3rd at tx showdown but it was mostly with kitana and i got fifth at a stacked Tx bar fights but it was mostly with Nightwolf. unless delriach got a top 8 a long time ago i'm not sure of that. the characters she loses really bad too are waay too commonly used. anyone who gets top 8 with primarily sindel is gonna get major props from me thats for sure. maybe i'll try and pull my gameplay back out of the gutter and get back to a higher level, we'll see.

So, don't do it when you want damage, but it's great when you're going for mixups.
yeah a levi cancel only gives you slightly over 2% of a bar. it takes like 45 or so to build a full bar, but you could do a higher levi and whiff a fb over opponents head. a levifb gives you like 6% of a bar, which is actually significant. and you should still have time to crossover jp it may depend on the spacing or the combo starter. levi cancel by itself is not much of a meter building tool though combined with fb probably should be used more. i know i do a pretty high number of levitates during a match so if it gave 4% it would be kinda ridiculous though. I would always have a breaker lol. IMO overall sindel does have great meter building ability (probably cuz shes always gettin her butt kicked though). say you do 21levicancel 2levicancel 311levicancel 44lowfb and opponent blocks all without poking out you get about a full bar. once you notice them poking out you throw a 21yell in which jails so then you could do a whiffed levifb jip combo. so levicancels alone don't build much meter but they allow for multiple blockstrings which build the meter.
