Sure, but while he may have very well been top tier, it's highly subjective and a topic of hot debate unlike virtually any other example, and it also has no supporting tournament evidence unlike virtually every other example, hence why I didn't think it was a good impartial example.

Kenshi recieved massive amount of buffs to get where he is so not a good example.

I said that on June 13th. This was before Shinnok had these changes:

Boneshaper Buffs:
6/23/15
- Dark Beam is now a high block and +8 on hit (up from -14)
- Opponent can no longer techroll after Scepter Slam
- Deity combo (Towards + BP, BP, throw) can now be 2in1 cancelled on hit

He losts his dumb 11 pressure, +3 ex flip and a damage nerf. He lost a little bit, but he's still boss.

People just learned the MU, and its weaknesses. Kung Jin being OP was a clear case of what I liked to call the "TYM syndrome"

Now that we know how to fight him we know that he isn't top2 and never was. Still a solid top12 char imo.

I will say Bone Shaper got overbuffed. I have said on many occasions that his fireball was given too much with the +8 advantage on hit. Everything else is fine, it's just he shouldn't have more than one way to pressure the opponent on plus frames, he should have to do it with Hellsparks like the other variations.

It's hard to mess up his combos. The timings aren't strict at all. And his setplay is also easy to execute. You don't have much room to fail really.

Another thing I'd like to note: No one really "asked" for his Deity string to be special cancellable or his fireball to be +8 on hit. We never even thought of those as suggestions and tbh with safe strings he only needs one way to take advantage of the opponent with plus frames. I mean, call out the community if you want, but we don't call the shots on what they buff or nerf. We just wanted his whiffing moves to be fixed and in the case of Necromancer a bunch of whiffs still happen with his tracking specials.

Impostor will always be good unless they blow up his F4.

People saying "you can backdash/armor his grab or overhead after MB hellsparks, so it's not that scary" clearly didn't watch EVO. Shinnok players didn't do anything other than the guaranteed low and still dominated. I think I saw like 2 grabs and one overhead out of like 15 Shinnok matches.
