I was testing vs D'vorah's NJP which is pretty good as far as NJPS go.

But even on "reaction" because I knew the tele was coming the NJP would sometimes whiff over shinnok's
body and Shinnok could full punish when she landed. "Reaction" is a tricky thing with something this fast.
More likely someone will have to read it to punish.

I played a set of like 20 matches vs an Imposter Shinnok yesterday and you can react to the overhead/low (b3/f4) mixup in the Vortex and to the Teleport. Connection was quite good. Teleport is easy to react to, the mixup is hard.

I fought against a pretty good shinnok, and I can say as a shinnok only main, that mixup was hard to predict. PERIOD!

if you block one of their pokes, they should be usually on negative frames, so dont get spammed all day long, you block a poke? go with your fastes move, should be f4

Shinnok is a footsies heavy character with a fast down1 and a down4 with ok speed.

heres what i do:
You wait for them do a poke and block it so they're at negative frames.
then you hit them with a down1 if you think they're not going to block when they're at disadvantage
If you see the down1 hits then you follow up with a Down4xxhellsparks.

if you see them block after they do a poke and you block it then just mix them up or do D4xxhellsparks.

If you get them respecting your pokes enough then you can start throwing or doing B3.

There's no reason to not just do down4xxhellsparks all the time unless you're playing vs a character that can reversal punish it easy and you have no meter for a mindgame with delay EX hellsparks.

Any tips on fighting tanya....her mobility is too good, pretty easy to read but hard to punish.

We should honestly make a list of each character's options after all 3 hell sparks hit and against the meter burn and such. Maybe I'll work on that later today.

I think it was from Shinnok's true blockstring when I fought him. He completely bodied me the second time I matched with him, and still was salty about Shinnok. I should just stop using it on streamers so he doesn't get nerfed. Apparently imposter is brain-dead easy to play too.

almost made it out this weekend at ECT. ive only owned the game since thursday (not counting the pc version because its unplayable and whack) and i was learning matchups on the fly. we'll see whats good next time

A lot of times you'll see me do an neutral empty jump, and that's from me failing those instant air trick portals. I just started trying to add this to my game, but on a pad it seems nearly impossible to reliably execute. I can do it with both thumbs, but that doesn't seem too practical in a real match.
