Halo: The Master Chief Collection

HOOOOOOLY SHIT! I wont have an xbox one or be able to play this for a while but as a hardcore fan of the halo universe I'm watching all the cutscenes and the best part *hands down* of Halo 2 anniversary is the redesign of the gravemind. He looks so much more like bungies initial concept art and not at all like that stupid overgrow venus flytrap design that he eventually wound up as. Its at a little over half an hour in to the video here and is creepy as FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK

They fiddled with some server stuff apparently. Hard reset you Xbox. I've been getting steady matches since I've done that.

The 15 GB update is taking forever, jumped up to 77% real quick and now it's only 81% and going at a very slow pace

So I find myself actually wanting to play through the campaign again... On legendary. I've started with halo 1 but it's honestly so hard it's annoying. If anyone wants to help let me know. I wanted to get through 1 and into 2 before starting multiplayer to get the feel of it again as I'll be playing mostly 2

And I don't like any of the control schemes. Why can't I reload with X?
You can reload with X, in "default" for Halo 2. But idk why they didn't allow fully customizable button mapping, maybe because BxR'ing with Rb, Lb, then RT would be too good? idk

Not sure if it's related but I was kinda worried when I heard about it that the population would be spread too thin between all the games and game types. IS that the issue or just netcode problems

343 server problems. I think playlists are pretty fair at the moment. One oddity is that there's no standalone CE playlist. Yet Halo 4 of all games has one.

Knowing I have Halo waiting for me at home has made this shift at work absolutely miserable. I should have taken this week off

Going through all the campaigns on heroic, and I'm starting to remember why I like the first Halo's campaign the best- it is the best. It's the one you can actually play on Heroic difficulty, and still have fun without it becoming a tedious bore.

Halo 1: Perfect.

Halo 2: Brutes. Who thought this was a fun enemy to fight? They're just bullet sponges. Shoot them till they fall down. Not interesting to fight like Elites or Shielded Jackals or Hunters. They're just boring.

Halo 3: someone at Bungie must have gotten a fetish for Jackal snipers- there's way too many. You'll find four of them at a time in many areas. Early on you have to build the habit of not doing anything in any area at all until you've taken out all the Jackal snipers. Since two shots of the covenant sniper can kill you, leaving just two jackal snipers alive at any time leaves you vulnerable to instant-death out of nowhere. It's really frustrating to have to play the equivalent of a Halo duck hunt shooting gallary so often.

Halo 4: "Yo dawg, we here at Bungie heard you like shooting shields. So we put shields on enemy shields, so you can shoot shields while you shoot shields." Ok, specifically I'm talking about the Prometheon Knights. On Heroic difficulty these guys run away as soon as their shields go down, and are constantly throwing out their repair drones, which actually have regenerating health themselves, and also flee wildly any time they are hit. Killing in this game isn't fun. It's tedious. I hate firing several shots at a repair drone, only to have it run away and regenerate- so those three previous shots meant nothing. Repeat till I finally kill it before it runs away, and THEN I can actually start shooting the enemy I want to be shooting- the Knight it was guarding.

We are holding on introducing the dedicated Halo: CE playlist. Up until this very day, we’ve been making (and are continuing to make) investments to ensure that Halo: CE’s online/network performance is the best it can be within Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and we’re committed to making additional investments to make this happen. The current Halo: CE experience will be playable in custom games, as well as the Team Slayer and Big Team Battle playlists, but we are holding on the dedicated playlist until we are able to provide the best experience possible. Lastly, due to your feedback over the past few weeks, we’ll be moving the Halo: CE playlist to 2v2 when it launches.

Yet the same behavior is prevalent in the Destiny series with Shielded Captains and Wizards.

But you also have to remember..... that is kind of hte same behavior that happens in real life. It makes the game more of a chore.... but it IS more realistic to combat.
But my god the AI know how to run like a bitch.

I swear Bungie and 343 still share notes.
