General/Other - D'Vorah New Mortal Kombat X Gameplay Video from FINISH HIM - D'Vorah vs. Raiden

Hi mates,

Here's a new gameplay video of Mortal Kombat X !

Player: Saja who was discovering the game with D'Vorah.
Player: Tendou, who was testing several pressure with Raiden.

Saja is probably one of the best Finish Him members, he was a monster with Skarlet and Kenshi on MK9 and is very good with Flash. He won our French Major in Injustice with Flash.

TendouTensei, very well-known as well on MK9 with his Raiden, is one of our best players in Franc. If I remembered well Saja hates his Raiden!

Both are back on Mortal Kombat X! Let's see their first meeting!

FH, thank you for all the good info you share with us.
I know tendou is a displacer Raiden user, but have you got any footage of his other variations? we really need to see and get a taste of them as well

Thanks for the vid again man. I'm definitely on the D'Vorah bandwagon right now. Her playstyle seems like she has a little of everything. Though there is something I have to say...

I can't be the only one that was distracted by the people reflected in the background! The way everyone looked standing there along with that music playing reminded me of those horror flicks where the narrator is like, "they're here" lol.

I don't think we can say thank you enough, but seriously, thank you guys.

Tendou was the only Raiden player and he only played Displacer because trying new stuff is for losers. I'd say get used to it. Unless MoS or TG turns out to be obviously better off the rip (doesn't look like it), you can look forward to every Raiden main doing their best MK9 Raiden impersonation with Displacer for months after release because life without Teleport is not worth living, I guess.

@EarlyReflections : Yes I tried the first variation and that's was a pain. As you see Raiden is really slow and without TP I clearly don't know how to play with him. I guess the last variation can be good for a zoning gameplay, but I take more fun with displacer variation.
Let's see in the futur if both variations without TP enable raiden to be good, but I feel perplex for the moment ^^

@Fractured_Shadow : yes, the opponent can poke between the first and the second hit (Im speaking about the two kicks).
But Raiden has also an other over head (2 punches), but it doesn't enable him to follow with teleportation.

In Europe!
Nice to see some anti-air uppercuts. I hope uppercuts are useful across the entire cast as AA and combo ender. It's such a signature Mortal Kombat move to me.

I'm jumping kick as fuck to try the air grab (down + grab button). It's harder than mk9 since the jumps look slower :/ The db1 only juggle with brood mother also, I've been surprised by it.

We can't see here, but her projectile can stun the opponent for a couple of sec.

Very nice videos. Displacer Raiden looks like a ton of fun, but I would like to see the other variations more. I'm certain they will have their place in MU's.

Does Raiden have a nice advancing string like he does in MK9? I failed to see one in this video.

Really likes to throw things at you.

Do you feel like he has pressure ability or will he be mostly Anti-Zoning/Turtle? He seems to have a decent chip string but I didn't see anything that could really open anyone up.

He seems to be a turtle character that will play for the life lead and run away.

Also what does his counter pressure look like? I see he has great pokes but can he do anything after a poke?

jesus christ that bitch better has big hurtboxes when she uses those long range moves so people can whiff punish her, but this is nrs's game so... >.>

Searching for an alt.
YES! More D'Vorah.

Question: does her x-Ray attack cause her to do that jump? Or does she have an air X-Ray like CyberSub and Batgirl?

Those db1 combos look tough, the move seems to have so much startup. I'm shocked ;) that she wasn't being poked out in block strings.

I'm kinda worried. It's too early to jump to any conclusions, but i feel we all gonna play MK9 Raiden in MKX. Raiden without a
teleport is difficult to get used to. for now)

Word was that teleport was a universal move in earlier builds, and this is not the case anymore. I'm afraid the other 2 variations will be gimmicks until the meta- game shows the truth.. I trust you and all the other people who tried displacer Raiden chose it not only for fun, but for high Lvl viability. Maybe there is a reason no one's bothering with the other 2... I hope I'm wrong.
Again, I wish they decide to put back Rai's teleport in all 3 styles. If not, Imagine how many times we'll neutral jump because the tele input won't work in other variants :D

EDIT: Thank you FH community for all that stuff and videos.

oh my god, D'vorah's D4 (at least I'm assuming that's a D4.)

The range....

If her D4 can actually successfully combo into her "trident rush" that would be absolutely amazing.

Also saw Raiden combo a d1 into shocker. It looks like at least in the games current state, fast pokes are allowed to combo (I'm assuming the D'Vorah player got combo'd by it and wasn't just mashing).

@EarlyReflections
You gotta keep in mind, this isn't training mode in the basement or endless vs at a casual station, this is a high demand kiosk at a trade show with recording limited to whatever room whoever had on their phones. Obviously people aren't just going to pick whatever for the sake of whatever, they're going to pick what they're familiar with or what they want to try and that's it.

I personally agree if the idea was to use "iconic" moves, Raiden should keep Teleport and Superman instead of Tele and shot, but I think we're seeing right now why they divided it up the way they did. If Raiden had teleport in all three, it would just be three "flavors" of mk9 raiden which would very quickly reduce him to whichever variation utilizes Teleport best. By making Displacer the only teleport one you have one mk9 raiden for the xenophobes and two completely different characters for the adventurous.

Good points.

In a similar situation, i'd hit the displacer for sure, but I would try the lightning trap variant out of curiosity
