Nah it wont b/c one Im not gonna stop playing teh game b/c I cant win it in my favor. I'll just practice til I get it right, that's the point of figuring shit out. Like taking apart things like cars and putting it back together.
 
You don't know that yet. MKX could be a complete flop.
Disregarding that NRS is obviously putting an immense amount of care into a quality product- even without that:

Games today don't sale based on quality, they sell based on their title-recognition. Mortal Kombat is a HUGE name- it's success is as inevitable as the success of the next Call of Duty- only in this case it will more likely be a well-deserved success.

mkx will be dominated by two extremes rushdown and spammer, think mk9 kung lao and pepatch deathstroke in the same game. in fact, the injustice evo final is pretty much a preview of mkx except with a run mechanic.

even though it seems they are attempting to equip each style with an offense,defense, and, i guess, balanced style, their lack of overall archetypes will lead to a lack of diverse tactics in spite of the versatility in styles.

i think the run and, in addition to the solid rusdown abilities that some characters already have, will buff certain types of nrs style pressure characters, and the backdash run meter interaction will have little effect on any characters similar to a zod style or a deathstroke style.

another interesting thing is that 4 out of 5 nrs evo games have been won by a character with a teleport move. lol.

i think that says something about what ultimately wins in nrs games, namely, teleport(obviously among other tools),and,in the case of superman, why a teleporter doesn't win.

Nonetheless, if I had to guess I would bet that mkx will continue the trend and a teleport character will dominate it as well.

Let's be honest here. Movement in injustice isn't fun. I don't care what mind games or whatever it presents or allows. I don't feel like I have control of my character. If mkx has movement as bad as injustice I may not be able to continue with it.
we already know that you can't cancel dashes, only runs. most of the MK players gripes with INJ was the fact that you couldn't cancel your dash, so i see a lot of scrub mentality MK only players that will complain about how they can't dash block up to someone. i know a lot of MK players that thought footsies was being able to dash up d3/d4 someone lmao i will bet my life savings that the INJ players with good footies will also have good footsies in MKX. players like Rico, theo, Jupiter will still have godlike footsies in INJ, i guarantee.
 
While that's a possibility, I somehow doubt it. Both MK9 and Injustice were pretty successful. I don't think NRS is going to screw up MKX.
Well, there is a difference between producing a quality successful selling product which satisfies a variety of different customers, and producing a sound competitive experience and in terms of flop i think it's debatable that nrs isn't very good at the latter.

Uh, NRS has delivered that twice in a row. Or did you forget where you are?

I have no problem with an inablity to cancel dashes, footsies are more about walking at a high level anyways and whiff punishment. it's quite difficult to compare footsies between the two specific genres. Rico was very good early on because he dealt with unsafe dashes in the "footsie" game quite well.

Honestly I feel like anti-airing in Injustice was majorly improved on from MK9, jumps were WAY too close to the ground. You barely, if at all, could anti-air an opponent jumping over you. They were way too close and it simply wasn't fun to play against. Playing Batgirl makes anti-airing a lot easier because of Flying Bat and I'm so glad, because I can at least anti-air them at all...

Also armour should be one hit like with MB b3/f3, and should only be distributed to characters/variations with generally slower and unsafe moves. Sonyas cartwheel for example in MK9 was completely unnecesary as it's -3 anyway yet had several hits of armour, but something slower and more unsafe like Rains roundhouse though slightly excessive in the amount of hits of armour was at least unsafe iirc. This is what should be replicated if anything.

This, it won't break the game for me, but an improved rank would make me play ranked more, and I really hope it's not based off of most wins/games played equals "Top"

If that were the case with Injustice, I'd be ranked 2nd or 3rd on XBL. =O

If it were points based, I'd be 3rd or 4th on PSN.

I just want good walk speed. If NRS is making the transition to a more Street Fighter-esque style, so be it, but we need the nice walk speed if we can't cancel our dashes. Not that IGAU needed it, I love IGAU for what it is, but I would really like to have higher pace footsies in MKX.

Ambiguous crossups are gone thanks to the block button.

Now get rid of SAFE 50/50s and we're talking. A 50/50 should be at least a slight risk to where if the opponent guesses correctly, he gets some form of punish.

Oh and safe tele's have to go. MK9 did teleports right... you block that shit, you get a full combo punish.

Yeah well I mean I played Quan as well and having a 6/7 frame uppercut helped there, but it doesn't make it much easier. It prevented some wakeups from having any effect at all though on knockdown, it basically gave a lot of the characters/everyone a safe jump sometimes.

Could you not low profile it though?
