I don't understand how an opponent is able to grab an ice clone. The whole point of the clone is that if an opponent touches it they get frozen. It defeats the purpose of the move. Subzeros own move being used against him is stupid.

that's the exact point of the clone then. 5 seconds of noone daring to armour, jump, walk through it or throw it.

if they wait for you to throw the clone so they can armour through it then they're doing exactly what you want them to be doing. staying out and wasting clock time.

IDK, is it me, or does this look like Subs iceball collided with Scorpions hellball and won?

His fireball exploded in mid air.

And here is the animation just flying.

So there is no extra animations that happen mid flight.
Or maybe he can meter burn his fireball mid air to explode? But he doesn't have the MB glow though... hmm.

1. There won't be any type of collision between projectile.....normals now thats a different story.

2. In those gif you shown one has him charging up his fireball before throwing while the other his throwing a regular fireball.Neither of those show any type of effect of him MB'n it and if he did it would be after it made contact.

Plot issue of Sub Zero being Cyber Sub Zero at the end of MK9 acknowledged by Boon on the current Gamespot stream. He said that more than one person has filled the role of Sub Zero in the character's history (this we already know) and that the story mode will explain who this Sub Zero is (old, cyber, new, who knows?)

I'm very interested in this. This SZ still has a Lin Kuei patch and his clone variation is called Grandmaster, so we can assume he took over in this timeline as well. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that it isn't a completely new SZ. The way Ed explained it there, I immediately thought, and still think, he meant it to mean it's someone else. The person asking the question knew that both SZ's were out of the picture, and instead of saying "people have ways of coming back in MK" he immediately said that the title is a legacy. Combined with the fact that we already have the offspring of two Kombatants confirmed, and that the story will be skipping forward in increments (i.e. 5-10-15-20-25 years later) I'm calling it now that this SZ is the son of Frost. Screen Cap it....or just come back in a years time.

The second gif, he is still charging up the fireball, I just made a shitty quick gif that cut part of it out.

Also for MB, I meant the picture, not the gif, maybe he MBnd it in the gif to cause it to explode in mid air.

Oh ok. Well if Scorpion had MBnd it he would of had glowing effect around after the fireball had comtacted

Also here's something to think about: What if charging his fireball makes the hitbox bigger,do more damage,and explode mid-screen?

I figure it has to do with the charging aspect of his hellball, or Sub-zeros ice ball deflects projectiles mid flight.
Though I would like them to do it, I don't think they are going to have universal projectile collisions, they have always been weird about that.

Yea unfortunately projectile collisions something NRS just don't understand I guess.

I feel like projectile collisions would make zoning more interesting, but it would also be unnecessary since Maximillian said that there wasn't a feeling of much zoning or easy zoning in his hands on time.

not sure if this has been caught/discussed before but at around 6:05 when Sub burn three bars for his xray parry move, Ferra/Torr gets frozen mid-air but no follow up xray...

Haven't read through the whole thread I'm afraid, so I'm not sure if it's been discussed, but does anyone else abhor Sub's new XRay? I'm not a fan of the new ending, but more importantly it seems completely defensive.

I'm really hoping we're either going to be able to select different XRs, or that each Variation will have its own XR to compliment it.

Or, third option, if SZ's XR is the same as it used to be except you can hold it for the parrying aspect, that's all good too.

I'm pretty sure it's the same as his MK9 X-Ray,its just that now it can be use as a parry if you decide to charge it,instead of just letting it go as soon as possible.

Actually looking back you can see he gets all of his meter back and then x-rays. Maybe he can choose if he wants it to go through or not? Like it'll freeze them like a normal parry but you have to activate it again to complete it. Personally I think it's still a glitch though.

At6:34 he again re stocks full meter even after xraying ... I'm assuming a glitch or practice settings

It's intentional, so that they can show things off without having to take the time to regain the meter.

I haven't seen any footage of SZ using his XR offensively, but I sure hope he can. Though I would prefer multiple XRs to choose from.
