To be fair EVO-wise, and I believe Mr. Wizard has already given this reason himself, that 3/5 could be done at those tournaments is not a good indication of whether or not it could be done at EVO.

I believe the reason given is that the sheer nunbers for EVO make it ridiculously long 3/5.

Injustice moves at such a fast pace at tournaments that are run well I noticed. 3/5 is more hype and I still believe it would be quicker than Marvel and most SF matches.

i said several times the the damage output and gameflow was always intended for 3/5. 2/3 also doesn't give much time to download an opponent in a game where rounds do not reset things.

feel free to be stubborn and believe you know better tho.

Isn't it amazing, how the game actually gets much better when it's played how it was meant to be?

If the tournament is ran well (enough setups/punctuality is on point/strict enforcement of timing rules/proper distribution of matches across stations), it works fine. If not, it sucks whether or not it's 2/3 or 3/5, just 3/5 makes it a bit longer than 2/3 already would've been.

UMvC3 has a lot of potential to end up running even faster than IGAU at times. Even with how much play has evolved and people are a lot more controlled about things that would end matches in under a minute, it still happens from time to time.

So UMvC3 is arguably faster than Injustice most of the time, so it can get 3/5 at EVO, and apparently Tekken hasn't been 3/5 at EVO since 2009.

I want 3/5 too but Mr. Wizard's argument that it is just not feasible for EVO might be accurate.

Tekken is just way too long for 3/5. The sheer format of the matches (3/5 rounds, 80 seconds a piece, option to switch between 2 life bars), in combination with how the game plays at a higher level just makes the game take forever. Most of the time, it has no real reason being 2/3, really.

In all honesty, EVO's one of the few places where 3/5 IGAU is 100% viable. The game runs fast as hell even on 3/5, and EVO is generally much more organized than other events, as expected. I have no doubt it could work.

I love seeing shit like this from people who have no idea about the resources and time it takes to run a tournament. Not every tournament has enough time to run a 3/5. If you're really getting "randomed" out in a 2/3 maybe you should work on your defense/match up knowledge.
