Your main characters from all the fighting games you played ever...and you were half decent.

My curiosity led me to the question:
-If we all play fighting games here (at least one) we have mains in each game.
I know that different games play very different in some points, but there must be
a focal point in our mains. What is this point? Where it all comes together?

Post the games you played this far and you took somewhat serious (fighting games ofcourse)
Post you main character-characters-team with the games and give us a little explanation on them.
Try to make a consequence and find the point, what is the thing that your mains share with eachother except for having attacks and you know...
One important thing, don't describe chars how they should be play but how you played them.


I want to start if you don't mind ^^

Mortal Kombat 9:
-Cyber Sub Zero. Rushdown character, with a lots of airplay and possible setups.
-Cyrax: Balanced character with high damage output and traps.

Tekken 3:
- Xiaoyu: Long combos, many positions changed fast according to incoming attacks, so good reaction gameplay.

Tekken 6:
- Lars: I have no idea. Seriously. I loved his counters, and his fast and sudden movement in the field with low combo starters.
- Jin: Football! No jk, I used his wall play a lot and he was able to shut down every attack, loved that.

(Super) Street Fighter 4:
- Cammy: Little wrecking ball. She is the rushdown character. Period. In Super Sf4 she had the best counter too.
- Jurij: Lots of airplay, setups, tactical gameplay, preparation for each trade.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3:
- Dante, Akuma, Phoenix team: Dante as zoner and battery charger, Akuma as the muscle and help Dante keeping away, finally Phoenix (normal) as a trap layer, mixup queen. After 5 bar, using up sacrafice Phoenix, and get Akuma back for actual use so Dante and unleash Dark Phoenix at the end if needed, A tactic revolving around a long preparation and defending a weak character.

Guilty Gear XX:
- Sol: Rushdown character with rushdown buffing special.
- Chip: Teleports, fast movements, mobility, hit and run gameplay.

That seems to be all, still there was many others but I took those games seriously,


My conclusion is that I like rushdown type characters, with airplay, traps with the need of some tactical gameplay.
Counters-parries came up a few times and fast movement.

So seems like in Mk9 my Cyber Sub is Just the perfect char for me to play.
I don't know why do I even play Cyrax now. maybe because of traps. Or I am a cyborg too.
Any other suggestions for me? Anybody else from the cast in Mk9 or in other games?
Tell me if you have a good idea or point.
Write down your own characters and others will tell you something wise, maybe tomorrow you will main
someone new.

MK9:
Baraka- Rushdown with a litte spark zoning mixed in. Rely mostly on D4, sweep, and d1 slices. Baraka had a cool design, and I love underplayed characters.
Sindel- Zoning queen. Mix up with iAF, low fireball, B2 fireball. Once they get in throw low fireballs to condition them to block low, then step up. She had a cool design, was my first real main and she was underplayed.

Tekken 6:
Alisa Bosconovitch- Fished for launchers into her chainsaw mode basicallyXD
Roger Jr.- Rushdown, was really good except for combosXp
Jack 6- Spacing, yet rushdown. Basically got them to the wall and worked from there.

I switch mains in BB too much to say right now. Thinking of learning Bang atm.

Fluff Threads: Well, it seems as though I have a fondness for fire-based and lightning-based characters. Nothing else really sticks out though.
Crunch Threads: I seem to have a polar love for both the noob-friendly characters and the noob-deadly characters. Also, I know I love good mind games and good pressure with a solid anti-air. Oh, and EX Thunder Knuckle == EN Flame Spear, if you catch my drift.

I don't play Tekken 6.I'm waiting for TTT2 I'm probably going back to Eddy and Hwoarang.I'm not going to play Kazuya in TTT2 because I hate how he looks like sh*t and so does Jin.

Chun Li - Loved how quick and in your face she was - good attack and defense.

SSF4 - Sakura - low tier but fun to play. Quick and aggressive.
Blanka - can rushdown and turtle effectively
(Special Mention Ryu)

Ivy - Love the whip sword. Good Keep-away and mix ups. Plus... she is a dominatrix!
Killik - Played him as an in your face character. Very mobile.

Kitana - Awesome move set. Loved her concept. Fans were awesome and great combos. Favorite character in the series
Raiden - I liked his move set. Superman was cool and good at catching people out. Teleport was great too. I like lightning plus he made cool noises. One of my 2nd favorite character in the series

Sub Zero - Great move set, easy to play.
Kabal - First character that I could do a full combo with. Loved his spin and fireball.
Sindel - Scream, levitate, good fireball and easy combos. All that and she was saucy looking.

Tanya - So in your face. I think she was the best character in the game. Relentless pressure and very fast.
Raiden - Another quick and aggressive charater. Teleport/Fireball/superman all great moves.

MKDA (I did not like this game much and did not play it for long)
Drahmin - easy character to pick up. Cool moves
Kitana - She was a pile of garbage in this one but I played her anyway.

MKD (Loved this game)
Ashrah - I played her most. She was just an unusual character to play - pretty aggressive and good combo potential. She also had the best throw in the game. It was also refreshing to see a woman clothed which is why I first tried her.
Zombie Liu Kang - Great move set and really simple to play. The concept was one of the best across the whole series. Make him a zombie again please
Li Mei - Fun, fast, not many people played her. Awesome storyline too!
(special mention to Baraka and Mileena)

Kitana - Back to her best again. I really liked her move set and general flow. She was really fluid to play.

Kitana - Quick, great shenanigans, fans ftw.
Raiden - Back to his best. Superman, fireball, teleport (wow!), vicinity blast. Really fun to play.

MK9
Kitana - Just Awesome. Can be played in so many different ways. Fans are devastating. Mobile and easy to combo with.
Mileena - Loads of shenanigans. If you can be a bit random with her she is hard to beat. Fun combos too. She is my 3rd favorite character in the series.
Ermac - He was a massive surprise! I kept getting my ass kicked by him online so I decided to give him a try. Within 5 minutes I absolutely fell in love with him. Devastating combos, great (but risky) move set. Satisfying to play.

These games I played the most with the listed characters. I've only started playing more seriously since Street Fighter 4 and since then I've had actual mains. First real main was therefore Cammy.

As for MK9, I'm trying to main Rain. He's my favorite character. I practiced a lot with him and did some labwork as well. Still, Mileena is my better character. I've never really practiced or hit the lab with her. Only her bnb and iAS, I practiced. I should practice her more, but when I have the time to practice, I rather do it with Rain.

UMK3 : Rain, Sheeva (I loved her 7-hit dial combo), Cyrax.
MK gold: I hardly remember playing this game but I know I played it a lot.
