What's new

X-Box MK players, why have you forsaken the game?

Add me! I'd love to find more people to play online. Lately it's just been me and peckapowa (which is great because we seem to be of equivalent skill level so the matches go back and forth), but it would to nice to play against some new people.

Also, I generally play between 10:30 - 12:30cst.

This guy is mad, but has a point. Usually after 2 matches I receive countless hate mail on 360. I've been playing for a few hours on ps3 now and haven't received 1. Maybe it will change, but I'm hoping it stays this way lol.
It's true that the general xbox online community is comprised of a-holes, d-bags, intolerable children/teens and retards but finding a match shouldn't be hard when you have an established 'family' community to fall back on like TYM lol. Most people here are willing to play games with each other, all it takes is asking.

360 isn't so bad if you just tweak your privacy settings. No more random crap for me! :D

Anybody feel free to add me (send a FR), I've been out of MK for more than a month now and play like garbage. Need good players to fight against. I'll add when I get the time (work)

I suggest you talk to Mr. Kitana
Are you suggesting Mr.Kitana EXCLUSIVELY played online? If so then he's a special case. I just don't see how it is possible to level up by playing only online. You can't learn how to play properly online. You can't space properly, zone properly, AA properly and a barrage of other things that aren't doable online. Online encourages bad habits like jumping too much for example. You just can't play this game the same online as you do offline. I'm sure everyone plays online as well but to level up I truly believe you need to get some offline comp.

That's about right.

Sure you can level up from online play, but only to a certain point. I play 75% online and 25% off. The benefits of playing online are learning matchups, and punishing stupid shit. Whenever I know I'm going to be playing offline I spend time in training to get my combos down offline again. The only downside to online is that you can't punish everything you're able to offline. As long as you know you can punish that shit it can translate to offline. It's just hard work to do both lol.

I only go to the Beginners room if the other rooms are absolutely dead. Even in there I usually only play people with over 1000 wins/games. Still I've stopped going altogether since it's embarrassing/awkward being in a room called 'beginners' when you've played 2,000+ matches.

I know the game is flawed online.

This game is on life support.
So, we can conclude that your basing this all off of the factor that you can't find anyone to play online; perhaps this is because a large amount of people have realized that after 6 months that this game is terrible online and are now conducting weekly locals/participating in tournaments? It's useful for the most basic of MU strats, that's it. Past that point, it's damaging due to how differently this game performs online.

Not unless you don't have a domain to go to, such as TRMK, TYM, or any family MK website in general.

This is the reason why I almost never play my xbox, the only reason I bought it was when they announced UMK3

sad thing, i was just playing a maybe an hour ago and the beginner room had BY FAR the most people in it. it was like 100 people in beginners and the next room with the most people was like 10. if the online wasnt complete ASS we wouldnt this shit every day about mk dying. only online is dying because it has the worst online for any fighting game i have ever played.

I don't agree. If I played someone who played mostly offline but played me online... they would play the game as if it were offline. At that point I will learn spacing and everything you mentioned (probably sans AA jabs.. maybe depending on connection). In that case I will level my play up, because i'll learn to not jump, or learn to JiK to stop you from d4'ing my attempt. I also understand that any lag kills the AA.... which is basically the one thing that is hard to learn effectively online. Sigh.

I've had one person effectively AA me online with Cage, doing the 11 followed by the dash 2s and nut punch. I, however, have never been able to do this online...the best AA I can land online is an uppercut or a flip kick.

Honestly the shit about online needs to stop. Dont like online? stop playing it get off your lazy ass start a local scene where you live. dont come on here crying about it. no one cares if you hate online. there are many many people who play online who do amazing at tournaments. Forever king ,Mr Mileena, i've played 16 bit online. Citizensnips Michael Angelo The list goes on. so please shut up!

I agree with the whining... but you whining about it is just as bad. Be the bigger man.

You've experienced offline scene... so I understand the blow up.... but why not educate?
I would say 90% of the whining comes from Ranked match players. Were they think their True Skill is a huge deal. Playing someone once isn't fair much. So it makes the match much larger than it actually is in the scheme of things. My suggestion would be to challenge the person you played to player matches and finish best of 3 or of 5 just to see how good you actually are in the matchup.
If they say no, then go to your xbox screen... avoid them... and be happy you won't have to deal. Always a better solution then "quit whining, STFU"

Playing: Injustice, Persona, Blazblue, and MK
Uhhh....you do know other players just go online to play Player Match and Ranked match right?

I rarely join Lobbies. I hate waiting and I always, always find an opponent in Ranked and Player Match. Sometimes it takes too long, but that's rare for me.

And I am sure i'm not the only one. But please understand the amount of people in lobbies do not reflect the amount of people playing online all together.

PS3 is a ghost town too for the most part. Sometimes I get on in the morning before work and there's 40 people in a main room, and about 30 in the beginners room. There's a ton of idlers so really there's a total of 6 people on. On top of that. EVERYONE declines. Fucking online.

I'm always playing online, and agreed, mornings suck the most. There's hardly anyone on, and the ones who are always decline and talk shit in chat.

I remember I was excited at the thought of playing MK all day during my vacation. The enthusiasm burnt out after about an hour and very few noteworthy games. Didn't seem anyone was on at all, and the ones who did, didn't want anything to do with me.

I've always wanted to join the TYM room, but I rarely post. So I wasn't sure if I would be welcome.

All i want is a couple friends with a connection that allows me to play NW. :(
I should be on in an hour. I usually make a TYM as soon as I hop on if one isn't open. I'll play you're NW - It'll be a nice change from the usual Reptile/Kabal/Raiden fest I'm usually subjected too.
