X-Box MK players, why have you forsaken the game?

It's pretty annoying when I try to find a late night match and it becomes a ridiculously long search. Even in the day, it's just so dead for a game that sold so many copies. The rooms are empty, people consistently decline in Player Matches and rage quit in ranked. Worst of all the "Beginners" room usually has the highest volume of players at night, most of those in there are not even beginners, just bums who want to inflate their record.

In short, it's pathetic. I know the game is flawed online, but damn, its still fun. Anyone lurking the forums who have MK for 360 or members here, put your MK in and play...most importantly, GTFO out the Beginners room if you have more than 150 wins. You will never become a better player unless you accept some challenges. You definitely will always suck if you rage quit every time someone bests you.

This game is on life support. It makes the 360 community look like a joke. I know Gears 3 is fun, but show your MK copy some love, please. Maybe when MK10 comes out they will continue to snub us considering the way things have gone.

and if you want some good late night comp add people from this site and play them. i normaly burn time in a player KOTH till more TYM members get on. i dont waste my time in ranked since i play raiden 8/10 lately. Or you can start a test your might room and post n here you started it there is normally a few players on who will join. so please stop your complaining. you can make the game better for yourself. dont blame other people like the leaderboard whores who do nothing but noob hunt.

If I really want to play online I just look at my friends list to see who's playing. If nobody is on I usually will just play training mode or do something else until I see someone on. I used to go into TYM rooms but usually everyone is playing koth which I don't want any part of and I get declined by anyone idle in the room. I wouldn't mind jumping into a koth room with people if it didn't make the game play even worse than it already does online.

Seems like this on PSN sometimes as well. A majority it's easy to find a match, but matchmaking still takes way to long.

Honestly I think this is more the fault of the net code than the community. You have to play the game completely differently online. Certain strategies that are suicidal offline become gold online and there's some things that are just plain dumb. I try to play online every now and again but the game devolves into a shadow of itself. Combos that require any timing are unreliable, anti air is hopeless, blocking slides/dash type moves on reaction is impossible. A lot of punishable stuff becomes safe, it's just a dumb game online. I don't think I've ever played without at least 10-15 frames of input lag and that only gets worse as you go from 4 bubbles down.

Also speaking of bubbles they seem to be inaccurate. Especially on PS3. And I've had good games with people from on here, but you still see online habits being built, slides and unsafe reptile dashes etc. It's just annoying to have to either go idiot offense constantly or hold block before I see an attack starting, and don't get me started on trying to punish Raiden teleport from neutral even when you predict it. Oh and forget anti air, unless it's preemptive jumping punch. Ugh. Just takes all the skill out of the game.

I have 900 and something wins and about 206 losses, no beginner would even accept my challenge in the first place. And I have gone into the beginners rooms recently to try to challenge all the fools with 1000+ wins or experienced records in general. Yet every single one of them decline me, everytime.

KOTH can be too laggy. I like to challenge(or be challenged) tag or 1v1 because I can see connections before fighting. TYM rooms are usually nothing but King of the Lag, unfortunately. Posting in here to find competition is a good idea, but it sucks if it has come to posting on a forum to get good competition that isn't scared when the game is only six months old. The X-Box community is weak, and it's a damn shame.

Yeah I feel dirty I haven't touch my mk and my hot wife lately due to gears 3.
If you have a wish to get your ass kick challenge me, I play frequently at night.
I'm aware of the xbox scene been slow on high skill players but if you keep searching on rank you definitely find good players.

Oh great, another one of these threads. Listen guys, the game isn't dead because it takes a while to find a game online, and late at night. Come on guys use your common sense, people have jobs and school, not many people will be up so late playing MK. It's mostly just going to be trolls and the no life COD players who care about rankings. Just add people from TYM and play with them, most of us are pretty decent players from what I've seen. I mean come on man, I've even played with REO and I've played 16 bit quite a few times now. Come on man, forreal? Stop saying MK is dying just because not many people are playing it on live anymore. People are starting school, work, and also realizing that the offline scene is 100000000000x better than online. I mean, you can't force people to play MK. A million years to find a match, when you do, chances are it lags making you feel as if you were playing underwater, or it disconnects or desyncs. Then you have chars online that are unstoppable, like Raiden or Reptile for example. It's just not viable at all and honestly a waste of time if you expect to level up. You won't gain matchup experience at all, whoever says you do is insane. Then you have scrubs and tryhards bragging about a win they accomplished by jump kicking and Raiden teleporting/throw/sweep "mixup" that you cannot react to because of the lag. Anyone in their right minds would quit this game online. I think it's good in a way that this is happening, it forces people to get off the couch and start scenes locally if they want to play the real MK. For those that don't have the resources or opportunity to play offline locally, well, it sucks. The sad fact is that MK 2011 could only be played offline properly or not at all.

Second, look at the xbox control.

Third, xbox in general are made up of 12 year olds, good luck finding someone that has gone through puberty to play MK with.

It definitely has something to do with Gears. I bought a copy of Kollectors edition for PS3 today so I could play with more people and use my controller, it was a good choice. 2 rooms were full and the others had nearly 30 people in them. It will die down on PS3 once MW3 comes out too. I'm going to enjoy it...also the ps3 controller is godlike compared to the 360's and the fight pads I purchased for it. I've rarely dropped a combo thus far and that is online too.

This guy is mad, but has a point. Usually after 2 matches I receive countless hate mail on 360. I've been playing for a few hours on ps3 now and haven't received 1. Maybe it will change, but I'm hoping it stays this way lol.
