Thats also with MK9s weirdo blockstun. I believe brady mentioned the blocking being much cleaner in this game, meaning you get off block quicker/smoother and transition easily into your punishes. People punish reptile dash with normals around 10-11 frames pretty normally and in this game using 6 frame moves to punish -9 would probably feel about the same.-9 isn't death unless someone is expecting it. People fail to punish Reptile's dash OFFLINE and that's -15.
its also worth mentioning that reptile's dash is a 6 frame move, so even at the point of blocking it, your brain hasn't even processed that the move happened yet. And at longer ranges of the move where it takes up to 13 frames to reach you the recoil animation Reptile has when his dash is blocked is very similar to that of it wiffing.Thats also with MK9s weirdo blockstun. this, reptiles dash is hard to punish because the by the time blockstun activates you are just reacting to the move happening... this is a very distinct difference... wonder womans twirly thing should be very punishable because it has a long duration frames... i was just thinking though how well lex can punish backdashing which is going to be huge and he has d1 into projectile.its also worth mentioning that reptile's dash is a 6 frame move, so even at the point of blocking it, your brain hasn't even processed that the move happened yet. Reptiles dash isn't hard to punish simply because of its low negative frames
yeah ive been playing lex and batman vs my roomie too... i think batman has the best trait in the demo and his f3 is amazing is b3 is pretty good and has a ton of advantage but these are pretty meter dependent move... his trait is really everything for him... it allows him to whiff punish zone apply pressure counter-zone get in... other than his trait hes meh in my opinion but his trait is just so goddamn good....She basically destroys projectile heavy characters.
Her sword stance is not being used at all.... and from what I can tell..... its the better stance for holding life leads and forcing and reacting to mistakes. Taking only half the chip damage and having a high parry as well as ways to cancel into a good combo. Her faster pokes are rangier in this stance.
I honestly think everyone is seriously good and it'll be up to the player to exploit holes in others games.
I've only played a bit of it.... and i'm still strugglign with what her bracelet parry actually can do.
yeah her wakeup sucks... but back 2 is amazing... 17 frames is great for an overhead with that range... cancelling into spin is not bad if unexpected every once in a while... trust me itll catch people... her stance change is too low...I have to disagree.
Her B2, while seemingly looks good at start, is 17 frames and has a range of about right outside sweep distance. Luthor and Doomsday can dash it.
Canceling into Spin on block is a VERY bad idea. You're better off staggering strings if you want to do mix-ups.
Stance changes don't gain frame adv in this game, plus her SnS is kind of garbage(not going to say yet 'cause something might be found).
Yea her IAD is pretty boss if you do it on cross-up you can do Landing Aerial 1 ~ 11 hitconfirm or B11 hitconfirm if you can train your reactions.
Amazonian Uppercut, while looks cool is a SHITTY wake up. I've seen pretty much any normal beat it out. You're better off using Tiara toss MB or if you're in SnS, Amalthea Bash(Her best wake-up but is in SnS stance).
Her parry in Lasso only absorbs a hit and doesn't actually parry. Her SnS parry on the other hand is really good and on hit, you can follow up with 23. But both start-up in 4 frames which is on all levels inferior to Batman's.
Yea her D2 is bawss as AA.
Despite my downplaying though, I don't see her as a bad character. Look at this more like PL complaining about how Lao sucks when compared to Kabal , Sonya and Kenshi.
