Why we love Mortal Kombat X

Some of us don't care for balance. I loved Kabal, zoning was so much fun, I miss it in MKX :(.

Stage counter pick was a fun part of the game, nothing wrong with it.

Also MK9 netcode was much better it isn't even a contest.

Give MK9 a big update, fix what you mentioned and you got a way better game than MKX hands down.
stage counterpicking had a meaning because footsies and spacing was important in mk9...

I think I enjoy watching it more than playing it lately. I'm really starting to get fed up with the game and that saddens me.

Oh well. At least I have Destiny and FFXIV keeping me occupied.

Perhaps I'll just take a hiatus from the game for a while. Maybe its meta will evolve beyond becoming a living jumping bean into a 50/50.

Exactly how I feel, yet in MK9, I got comfortable with the entire roster towards the end of it's life and would random select on matches. With MKX, I'm not feeling it and what others have said in this thread, it's kinda got boring, as I can't even be arsed to look at more than 2 characters at the moment.

I'm just taking a break from it and just following the tournaments, watching streams, etc, and seeing how the game grows for a bit.

I like it because I feel like I'm reliving being 8 years old at the arcade playing koth (we didnt know it at the time). Pure magic, blood, glory, disappointment, it all mixes into visceral mess of adrenaline and it feels glorious. Mostly winning, but being reminded that I suck compared to the pros every once in a while.

It's a very fun game, I always speak highly of it to friends and on xbox reddit. The only downside really Is the netcode, which affects some of us more than others. Personally online is my only option but I know many of you are offline exvlusive

This is exactly what I just needed, some positivity for once. I've fallen a little bit for the negativity but luckily not enough to dissuade from playing. With that out of the way, I really enjoy this game because of the variation system. No other fighting game so far gives you 3 different ways of playing the same character, which in my opinion makes it more approachable for people of all skill sets and abilities.

Maybe somebody wanted to play Sub-Zero but wanted to rushdown instead being defensive. Cryomancer is their answer. Perhaps somebody was on the other end of the spectrum and wants to be defensive. Unbreakable is there for them. I really enjoy that aspect of the game. It's honestly one of the most fun, entertaining and enjoyable things this game has to offer.

I have to admit that I see a lot of complaining in here. "This is broken", "Buff/nerf X" , "50/50 game only" and what not. It's so much until the point I ask myself "Why do these people even bother playing?"
To be fair, a lot of this is actually for the same reason -- it's people who love the game, are deeply passionate about it, and want it to be the best it can be. When you love something, you're willing to take care of it, and people's concerns that have been raised to this point have helped make a much better game already in 3 1/2 months.

If you really love the franchise, you will want each game to really showcase what it's capable of -- with the kind of diverse and interesting play that will help the game last for years.

It's been awesome to see how it's progressed, and hopefully things keep moving in this direction.

Things I love about MKX :
It's a fun game. Lots of options.

I'd list the things I hate but they mostly start and end with anything that this community posts.

DOOMSDAY-15RUS-

i'LL DESTROY YOU ALL
the game of my childhook, beautiful, nice cast, not a manga, brutal, gore, fast, big combos and look real not like 200 hits marvel, KI or blazblue etc

I love MKX because is a Mortal Kombat game.
No matter how bad or good it will be, I will always love Mortal Kombat for a lot of things that can be found only in a real MK game.

Particularly, I love MKX because it push me to surpass my own level (that is very low, I know) and that's a good challenge that make me interested in the game more and more.
I lack in real "competitive" spirit and I always play just for fun but I'll try my best to become a better player.
