Question Why is his name Shazam and not Captain Marvel?

Well *Puts on nerdy glasses* it actually doesnt work like that.Now in order to transform back into his real form Billy has to not only say Shazam he also has to have the desire to do it in his heart.That's why he is able to casually say Shazam without fear of suddenly transforming.*removes nerdy glasses*

They changed it to Mar-vell to avoid confusion but refused to allow DC to have Captain Marvel on covers. I always figured they'd change him back to Captain Thunder especially after Flashpoint happened.

The reason this all happened is because Marvel trademarked the Captain Marvel name during the time DC was obtaining their Captain Marvel from the original publisher,correct?

Righto. Took em around 3 years to get Captain Marvel as their own and in that time Marvel decided to take the name as their own.
