Why does "buff" states disappear after krushing blows ?

Say, if i am playing Scorpion for example and did the DB4 buff in Variation 2, the spear fire buff. Why does it go away if i land a krushing blow like F34 ?

I tested this also with Jade's glow which will go away upon landing upon landing any KB. Is this some sort of bug ?

Probably to prevent getting close to a 'touch of death' scenario if theres a buff active and a krushing blow launches for a combo. Just speculation though.

I'm not sure if they do.

I was practicing with Shao Kahn last night, and his hammer buff after a D2 KB SEEMS to go away as the green glow disappears, but the buff is still active, and you can still his crushing blow associated with that buff.

It may be the case that the fire affect is gone, but the buff itself is still active.
