I play sub and scorp because they are the original ninjas. I've loved them both since the debut of the franchise. And because I like maining a team of enemies.
Specifically sub for the reads and corner game and scorpion because of the swag fucking vortex...oh and fire is cool too.

I see how NRS and Santa Monica Studios seemed to be really excited about developing Kratos as a guest character in MK9, then I look at where he's at now in the competitive scene, and feel that it's a real shame he is going absolutely nowhere; even the lowest-tier fighters get more love than Kratos.
The four I use are among my favorites, with Raiden being my number 1. I love his Teleport and I love rushing down/playing aggressively with all of them 'cuz it's my preferred style. I think Skarlet has the best designs of all the females in this game, as well.
The only of my faves I don't use is Quan Chi because I don't like how slow he is and how they changed his Skull ball and make him have that generic teleport stomp, but he does have that awesome unused MKDA alt.
One more thing: Bliu Kang = OP brah. No one else's costume/color comes close.
Sonya is really good.
Cyrax is just so swag. He was the first character I mained when I picked this game up.
Zoning is interesting and really involved in this game. I came from Brawl where camping can be braindead. So I wanted to play the most zoning-intensive character in the game, Freddy.
Scorpion because although Sub-zero is my favorite MK character, but one way or another I always find myself playing him. I got a thing for hateful ass characters. Rain because as a kid i thought his roundhouse kick was mad funny

Sektor cuz he's red and I like red.
Skarlet cuz she's red too and no one else used her when I picked her up.
I main Kano but now im using Noob...I use Kano honestly because i win alot of matches with him and his personality is like no other and besides i like when he spit on your face after the match/round is over...Noob on the other hand is the best looking character how can you not wanna use him.
Because Noob is straight fucking G in this game. He is a shadow wraith of epic proportions and he doesn't give a fuck. He is unadulterated and deific without a doubt.
Lol, yea. Jade just fits my playstyle. I'm not terrible aggressive enough to do someone like Johnny or Sonya justice. I tent to favor counter heavy characters like her and Baraka. And I really hate being zoned.
Reptile, just because I love his background story, his moveset, and how he is radically different from the rest of the cast.
Johnny Cage cause he reminds me of me.
Sub Zero - B/c he's my absolute favorite MK character of all time. He's fun as hell to play as. It feels so rewarding to win with him and last, but not least, I FUCKING LOVE THE ICE CLONE. Rushdown, pls.
Noob has this weird appeal making you want to keep playing as him. He's the glitchiest character(GE, Shadow Glitches, Lord of Shadow Blackhole Glitch), has great moveset(fuck ghostball though), and high damage combos(45% Midscreen and 63% Wall.)
I was a big fan of MK Mythologies and seeing his whole background story is a huge plus. Noob arguably gives the most fun and enjoyment to play.
I was using Liu Kang at first because he's been my favorite character since MK1. However, I was still playing like 10 characters to get a feel for everyone and based on all the Liu hate I was getting online I just switched to Sonya for a little while. After a few matches with Sonya it was just like a light clicked on and I said "this is my main". It's been like that for the last 18 months or so.
Scorpion - Because he's was the only character in the demo that felt like he didn't work off of a flowchart + the community seem to think 111 mashers online is sufficient matchup experience against someone who actually knows what the hell they're doing.
Sektor - first time he's been in a mainstream MK game for years and couldn't wait to check him out, didn't think I'd actually play him on the regular though lol
Kenshi - Thought he was the most interesting character out of the 3D games, although got put on the backburner after Rain was released. And again, the community trying to convince themselves that he's some easy mode character where you can just press buttons and win.
