Why do people AFK in rooms?

I never understood it. Its ridiculous how for every 5 people I challenge, 4 are AFK. Whats the fucking point? Why does 60% fo the Elseworlds room consist of people that for some reason choose to sit in there all day?

also, how hard can it be to code a afk filter

They should just boot you out after 10 minutes of inactivity or something. But people go AFK to go to the bathroom and such. You know, things like that.

Obviously, they had to go to the corner store to get some icy cold beverages and couldn't afford to spend extra time turning off their console, or leaving the lobby for that matter.

Gotta have drinks by your side as you play with heroes and villains in a crazy game like I:GAU, and it's always bad when you forget that you already drank your whole stock last night.

Sometimes I get up to get a Beer use the restroom or something to that effect, not the store. Come back, hey look this guys is gonna play Joker. Lets see what he does, might be interesting. Guy does nothing. Intreaged let me minimize the screen and see who this guy is. Oh it's me because 2 or 3 people decided to leave the room that were ahead of me :oops:

I know I'm not alone here.

Don't care for it in lobbys. But in KOTHS and Survivors its horribly annoying.

Yeah its a free win but it takes forever to happen, and for heavens sake, the koth is cleared out and I want a break. I'm on a 30 streak and I want a break without eating a loss. And these fucks don't fuck off.

Agreed. Sometimes I just want to fight as well. If I'm short on time and don't want to wait to fight during a King of the Hill session I'll go to Player match. It's annoying when someone declines the match. I always fight whoever I'm matched up with. What is even more annoying is when I'm matched up with the same person only to be declined again :rolleyes:.

.... they mostly come at night. Mostly.
stalkers ..... some people in rooms, wait for scrubs and noobs with supposed crap win / loss stats, in order to challenge them as soon as they enter there .... ;)

this phenomena kind happened (and still perhaps take place) in MK9 rooms too .... :eek:

I leave it on sometimes when I'm out and about around the house. (getting water, cleaning, restroom)
If I'm going to go out or cook, do homework, etc, I'll turn it off.
The reason I also leave it AFK is because the dense chatroom max out fast in players and it's annoying having to refresh spam to get in.

If people really want to fight me, they message me and I get back to them.

It literally takes 45 seconds tops. Much less tedious than all the time people waste staring at their screen while they try and challenge yo afk ass
