Liu Kang & Kung Lao are my top 2.

My original main was Liu Kang since day 1 but then sometime around May I picked up Buzzsaw Kung Lao cus I was struggling against Ermac, Scorpion, Erron Black and Takeda. Then they buffed the hell out of Tempest lao and now here I am.

Me for months before MKX dropped: "Cassie is so fucking tight. What a cool character concept. Finna main her for sure unless we get robot Smoke or Cyrax."

Me 3 days before launch: "The cowboy looks cool."

And when I got the game, I picked the cowboy first and that was it.

Actually my real main character isn´t in this game. I decided to main Reptile, because he was my second main character in MK9 and i always loved reptile.

My second main JC SD. I´ve seen his big dmg output and cool looking mimic combos on youtube. I got flashed :D

Kung Lao (Tempest) -I really like how 4,4 and B3,2,1~hatspin look.

Sonya (Covert Ops) - I like how Military Stance ~ 3 looks and I like how Garotte Parry sounds.

That's what attracted to me to these characters. I'm fortunate they're both really, really good too.

Edit: I'm also tempted to try Dualist Kang because of the animation of switching between dark and light as well as the Dark Emporer and Revenant skin. Probably the best costume imho for the game.

It's all so very confusing.
I gravitate towards characters that have solid, natural mobility and feel 'light' on their feet. Its why I main Yang and Decapre in SFIV. At release, I picked up EB, 'cause, ya know, cowboy with a sword and ninja mask.. But he feels clunky to me, so I never clicked with the character. After some searching I went to Ermac because I was attracted to his high risk/reward playstyle, but he still felt heavy and slow.. So, I ended up deciding to learn Cassie.

Cassie has excellent speed and movement and her strings all feel quick and responsive. I like the sound effects of her baton smacking people and her attitude in general.

I took a break from MKX for a while though, and on return I went through the whole damn roster, but have settled on Cryo Sub and might look in to SG Jacqui.

Ermac because of his risk reward! I love his end animation

Predator because of his zoning and he is a cool creature

Tremor because of his rock based puns, and he just looks awesome with rocks and deep voice

To be honest, it was the sound effects from Jason's special moves in Relentless that really made me like him at first. The choking sound characters make when you land a choke is on point, the back breaker sound effect sounds legit as hell and the scream from your opponent when you bear hug them is fuckin' awesome. I especially love how the blood they spit up splatters all over Jason's face and he simply doesn't give a flying fuck about it.

He also has one of my favorite Brutalities in the game, despite it being a pain in the ass to do. Having to use Dark Pursuit (dd3) and then landing an EX dbf1 is a pain in the ass, but it's oh so fulfilling when you land it. That Brutality really, really fits what we know about Jason. It's also kinda comical like some of the deaths in the Friday the 13th movies. He snaps their neck, causing their head to do a 180 and throws them on the ground. They're laying on their stomach with their face pointing up. It's amazing.

I have enjoyed Quan Chi since he was brought about in MK4 and MK Mythologies: Sub Zero. He is always so sarcastic and up until the story mode of MKX always had a trick up his sleeve to get him out of trouble.

Johnny Cage because back in the MK1 days, I thought he was the cool guy(sunglasses, hitting people in the dick). Been with him ever since. He's clearly become part of what keeps the game from becoming overly serious which I also love. Picked Stunt Double because A-List is so hard to use online and no one was really using SD

Current Alt: Sun God Kotal. Those fucking normals/footsies are god like. On your knees!

Quan chi : because I was loyal to him in mk9, and decided to continue pissing people off with him in mkx. Warlock since day 1

Johnny cage : started as a joke online with fisticuffs Johnny, but ended up actually liking him. I use A-list now

Jason : I tried him out when he was released, and he just clicked for me. He creates the most amount of salt online because most consider him garbage. But I dig it.

I picked RS kitana because I always look for a character where I can. Punish others hard and also I love being able to combo from a anywhere on the screen. She just feels so versatile. I use d'vorah because she says the best stuff

Liu Kang, because my heart lies with boyscout heroes type of characters. Always. And if I play a game with choices, I will always do good. Would it be Mass Effect or inFamous, my character will become an ideal to strive towards.

To me Liu Kang is Superman of Mortal Kombat saga. He is a shaolin super hero and Earthrealm's champion of Mortal Kombat tournament. He saved world 4 times in a row (in MK4 he saved the entire universe from Shinnok's domination). He is very good and kind person, who cares about his friends and he knows what forgiveness is, when he shows understanding towards Shujinko and him been used by Onaga for evil, but Shujinko thought that he was serving for the greater good.

Mortal Kombat Deception showed that even death can't stop Liu Kang from helping people, his friends and his soon-to-be-wife especially:


He didn't even minded to work with Ermac, his former enemy, because Liu Kang saw that Ermac is trying to be a force for good. Liu Kang believed in him and asked for help to rescue precious for Liu Kang people.

I also like how Liu Kang is a representative of Bruce Lee in Mortal Kombat series and eventually he grew into his own character rather than just a copy of an actor. The way he moves in Mortal Kombat X is outstanding though, I love all of Bruce Lee mimicking he is performing in game, because it suits Liu Kang.

This is how I pick up a character. I find the one I have spiritual connection with in the meaning of his story, personality and allignement to good, how he moves and looks is also important, because I like to play a badass looking hero.

Only then I start learning the gameplay of the character and no matter how hard or low tire his gameplay is, I will stick with him forever.

I will forever curse NRS for what they are doing with Liu Kang's character since MK9 (and will forever hate them for what they did with Superman in Injustice). I want my boyscout shaolin hero from original timeline back. His intros in MKX sucks most of the times, because he became too cocky and arrogant and it doesn't suit him at all, looks like a bad mixture of Johnny Cage's blood was used on Liu Kang.

Still, my hope for the Hero of Mortal Kombat to come back once again and remain like that forever.

i went with Mileena because i got tired of my previous main, Scorpion. Mileena's gameplay and style just meshed with me so well. her movements are the perfect combination of grace and savagery. i dropped Scorpion almost immediately after getting a good handle on Mileena. still goin hard with her to this day. in my opinion, she is alot better contrary to what many other people might think.

Sonya I started co-maining because I asked myself this very simple question: "Who will get me the most wins online?"

My secondary used to be Marksman Erron and Hellfire Scorp but I dropped Marksman because his RCs are too hard and Hellfire I switched to Ninjutsu. New secondary is Summoner because of the same reason I picked up Sonya
