Query - to what extent are the people who visit this site not representative of mkx players as a whole? Because if NRS did their market research based on this site, they never would have chosen leatherface, and probably not alien.

Although we represent only a tiny (and somewhat biased) faction of the playing audience, I'd wager that the inclusion of those characters is more of a specific, cross-promotional move on the publisher's end than a result of comprehensive polling of the playerbase.

From a brand standpoint, having more guest characters is not a good thing. MK will slowly lose its identity and become a violent Super Smash Bros.

Why doesn't NRS just make their own horror fighting game? I feel like the inclusion of Leatherface is a business ploy. Not just to get sales but to convince other horror properties and possibly test the water for a horror icon fighting game. I fully expect Pinhead and Ghostface further down the road.

Love seeing the robots, xenomorph looks interesting, and bo rai cho is ok. I'll reserve judgment till I see leatherface gameplay. That being said...

Tbf, I will hold the fact that I said the Alien would be too difficult to make work in this engine. However, I stand by the fact that seeing this "Barakamorph" swinging from vines, tossing around wood planks, and having jank versions of certain fatalities/xrays will look awfully silly.

That's the thing too, I suspect Leatherface will be high tier. The chainsaw would most likely hit multiple times, causing heavy chip dmage, and breaking through armor like nothing. Not to mention he COULD have some reach with the chainsaw, and his NJP and jump attack could be multi-hitting AND have reach.

It just makes zero sense why Leatherface was chosen for KP2, literally nobody wanted him. There were more popular choices than him. Everyone else in KP2 is alright though.

Side note:
I bet you anything NRS will reuse the Jason/Predator intro dialogue for Leatherface, and Xenomorph. So it'll be another round of "Who are you?" and "You don't belong here".
