you can always select the old characters by spining the icon, and i think there was another way too

MK4 enhanced added some rendering options and removed the polygon limit, along with a few other things. It is required to add characters like MKG characters because they have so many more polygons than the regular MK4 PC characters (about 4x as many).

But, MK4 enhanced doesn't replace any characters itself. It's something that you need to have in order to replace the characters depending on what you are replacing them with.

You would use MK4strip to unpack the contents of the game and then some other apps to actually replace the characters and their textures.
