Who I mained (and subbed which I'll put in parenthesis) since the very first MK when I was a first grader:

MK1 - Scorpion
MK2 - Scorpion, (Sub-Zero)
MK3 - Robot Smoke, (Sub-Zero)
UMK3 - Human Smoke, (Robot Smoke, Scorpion: Former main)
MKT - Human Smoke, (Scorpion: Former main, Noob Saibot)
MK4 - Scorpion, (Tanya)
MK Gold - Scorpion, (Tanya)
MKDA - Scorpion, (Frost)
MKD- Scorpion, (Tanya, Noob Smoke, Jade)
MK Unchained - Scorpion, (Frost)
MKA - Scorpion, (Frost)
MKvsDC - Scorpion, (Batman)
MK9 - Scorpion, (Jade, Cage)
MKX(KP1) - Tanya, (Scorpion: Former main, Predator)
MKX(KP2) - Undecided. Will drop all current characters and pick a new main and sub out of: Alien or Tri-Borg-[Cyber Sub or Smoke "variation"]. A fresh start if you will.

My favorite is Sektor and will always play with subzero even if I don't like his play style and my love hate with both Kano and Liu Kang forgot to add noob in mk4/gold and Mkvsdc

Mortal Kombat 3/Ultimate/Trilogy - Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
Mortal Kombat 4/Gold - Liu Kang and Kitana, Kung Lao, Kai.
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance - Kung Lao.
Mortal Kombat Deception - Liu Kang and Shujinko.
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks - Liu Kang and Kitana, Kung Lao.

Of course I've tried the entire roster in each of these games, but the characters I listed are the ones I've played the most. Liu Kang was always number 1.

Mkx: takeda, kenshi. (Still heartbroken I had to drop kenshi)

All time favorites: Kenshi, Takeda, Kano, Bo Rai Cho, Stryker, Skarlet, Erron Black.

I have always used Liu Kang and Nightwolf if they were in the game. Also loved Cyborg Smoke, but that was short lived.

MK4-MK9 co-mained Shang Tsung and Noob Saibot. Dabblings with Quan-Chi and Shinnok.
MKX Soldout from Kano to Lewis Kane, and Predator.

MK9: Ermac, Baraka, Kenshi
MKX: Kotal Kahn, Kenshi, Quan Chi and dabbled in some other characters.

I don't think I really had a "main" in the old MK games. I played mostly everyone back then, but I remember I fancied Sub-Zero and Reptile a lot.

In Trilogy I played everyone as well. Didn't really have a main character that I put work into until MK9 came out. My main in MK9 was Noob Saibot and my secondary was Sub-Zero.

My main in MKX was Shinnok, but he got boring really fast.

MKXL - Triborg(cyrax and Smoke), Alien, Raiden and mileena will always have a place in my heart, but Sub died to me in this game.
