What do YOU use to record your gameplay?

What equipment do you use to record your gameplay for the best output? Software? I'm going to start recording game footage so I can get it criticized.

Im pretty sure you just press share and then all the way to the right it should say stream or something along those lines, and it should give you step by step setup process. I did it before but it lagged my online. So that may change your mind.

Fuck I haven't looked into it in ages for PC, I use Fraps but it really causes lag if on decent settings, I think Bandicam was a better alternative last I checked, not sure what else there is out there for ya BuzzKillPopOff

while in game hit share button then you will have the option to stream through broadcast gameplay to twitch or ustream. You can stream as long as you have an account. I f not I think they will give you an option to create one right on the ps4

HD Elgato capture card for all my footage, upgraded to it since the HD PVR1 doesn't do HDMI and PVR2 just isn't where it's at, the software is better with Elgato and generally the hardware is convenient, you can fit the thing in your pocket.
If i'm doing short combo clips that last 30 seconds or less I just use the Game DVR on the XO and download the footage from Xboxclips.com, it's easier than setting up all my equipment.

I had the PVR2 for awhile, but it was complicated setting up. I heard the elgato is much smaller and easier to use. I'll have to check it out. But it's pricey.

Compared to built in recording devices (consoles), elgato or pvrs are amazing. The quality is a pretty big difference. But only invest in it if you are serious about recording lots of things, or it will get old and you'll just waste your money. I believe it's around 100$ for either one. Elgato or HD PVR

Yeah I stream a monthly mkx tournament so it would be nice but that's costly.

You could check other places like ebay instead of in stores. They may be a few $$ cheaper.

I use hd pvr rocket. Little, hd 1080p, dont need to plug a pc.
For sound : sound card astro mix 1mp 2015 + best gaming headset beyerdinamix mmx300, dont need correct the voice.
Software : mac, final cut pro

if you mean on pc/windows then nvidia shadowplay most def.
only on 600 series.
doesnt use cpu at all, captures video on a small size. you gotta upload later to youtube manually.
best video capture software imho.

For PC, I use OBS with the recording function - works perfectly and is free.
For PS4, I record to twitch and then use OBS on the recorded footage stored on my Twitch - lol.

Just install a video grabber into firefox like "netvideograbber" and download the file.

I got an el gato and that thing is a piece of trash as the associated software constantly crashes across all 3 of my PC's.

So don't get one of those.

I'd recommend the HDPVR or the Elgato, they're great.

At the moment for my PS4 I just use the share function to upload clips to YouTube then I download them using clipconverter.cc and edit them. It's very convenient however an Elgato would give you better quality and framerate. But the PS4 share option should be good enough for what you're looking for. Unless you're on XB1, in which case they also have a dvr installed so you can do the same thing as the PS4.

Why use equipment if PS4 record gameplay in HD?

I record gameplays on PS4 and use a USB drive to transport videos to PC, edit and upload.
