What do you think next NRS game will be?

If they make another MK game, how do they continue the story? They literally just did the "we blew up the timeline and now everything is different", so I think it'd be a bit jarring if they try and do the Reset option again to go back to original character setups.

What I'd like is they take us back to the end of "Aftermath", Mortal Kombat 1 and it's expansion were a possible timeline, and instead we basically continue on with the Alternate timeline.

What they will do is continue the New Era.

I think it could be fun. Biggest hangup is how do you get your legacy characters involved? Would they really go another MK game without a main playable character of Sonya, Jax, Kano? How would you get Liu Kang, Sub Zero, Scorpion into the story?

For me I'd like it because it'd be a chance to actually do whole new characters, but I think a lot of fighting games are sold based on having mainstream legacy mascot characters.

it already is. No need to continue this garbage, get rid of the timelines ffs. It baffles my mind how this is still a thing and how Cianciolo is still calling the shots.

Unlimited timelines, Kuai being Scorpion, no Hanzo, cyborgs being female. These were some of the worst decisions ever made regarding the MK story. Its almost like they WANT to fuck it up.

WB is in a bizarre situation right now. IJ does not do numbers like MK and they said they want to focus on MK as a brand for video games.

Some kind of adventure game to create some new appeal could be a good idea. Another MK fighter so soon seems like a bad idea. An Injustice game? Man, maybe...but a straight sequel to IJ2 seems unlikely. That ship really feels like it's sailed.

What if they did a bit of a change-up? They want to focus big time on Batman because he does numbers and is a VERY safe bet for most things.

...what if the next DC fighter was just Batman-centric? His cast is MORE than big enough and already took up like half of Injustice anyway.

I think it would be Injustice unfortunately even though MK is their money maker.

I wonder if they would consider mitigating the risk by doing IJ with a few characters in the base roster from MK that are not overly gory and reliant on Fatalities eg Kitana, Kenshi, Sindel, Liu Kang. This would not be MK v DCU, just a handful of characters joining the main cast.

Prepare for MK2/Inj3/MK13 to be even less feature-complete than what MK1 was at launch

99% chance WB will have NRS rush out the game again because the publisher has NOTHING else going for them at the moment, cash in on the casuals who don't know any better, drop a few DLC characters that were cut from the base roster, have people react to a fourth timeline reset because the NRS lead writer is an incompetent hack fraud, and move on

Man, it would probably sell just as well as MK itself. I don't think people realize just how many horror fan gamers are out there and would likely dip their toes into the fighting game pool if it was chock full of horror icons.

I just want good 'ol Michael Myers in a fighting game and he's busted af from beginning to end.
