So when you are playing online (usually in ranked) and you get matched against somebody who clearly has not played a match yet (or has like 0 wins and 1 loss) and their personal and faction level are both 1, what do you do?

Do you take it easy on them?

Just play like you would against anyone else?

Let them win?

Idk what to do when this happens, I usually just take it easy on them maybe let them take a round, and then win because for some reason I feel like a prick if I just go all out on somebody I know hasnt really even played yet. One time I just played normal/went all out on and the guy didn't even get to do anything, and I felt pretty sh**** about it to be honest.

So I am curious as to what everybody else does when this happens. Is it more sportsman like to just to go easy so you don't discourage anybody from playing, or go all out so they "learn the hard way" like most of us have/had to do?

I let them take first hit and go passive mode and punish if they do something unsafe. If they try to cheese me out or don't try their best I go serious. (not that I'm that big of a big cheese at this anyway)

That's pretty much what I do most of the time. I am not great at this game at all though, just average/mediocre lol

I leave the match straight away because I don't want to waste my time.

...When I play anyway.
That seems awfully arrogant of you. At least start the match and see for yourself where they are actually at and give them an honest taste of a real match. If you are that worried that they're skill will rub off on you or that your time is too important for a sixty second romp with someone who is right where you were once, why are you even bothering with ranked play?

I never understood the idea of going easy on them. If the match starts and it becomes clear that they aren't very skilled (because the stats do not guarantee outcome), I'll practice stuff I don't normally get the chance to with my mains. I don't consider this going easy as I am still going for the win, just changing up my typical tactic so that in the future it's more polished with the practice.

I believe you can work on something with any opponent. The newbs give me practice and I give them an honest appraisal of where they're at.
