Voicing your dpad frustration to aftermarket

I think Nintendo actually patented the perfect d-pad or something. Sony's the only one that's come close

I was telling my friends the same thing. Nintendo came up with the original awesome d-pad and Sony just carried the tradition. I've never had a problem playing fighting games on Nintendo or Sony d-pads. ONLY MICROSOFT D-PADS!!!

Now the only thing for me to test is to see if the Wii U pro controller's d-pad is a good d-pad but I don't have any fighting games for the Wii-U.

What about for those that prefer snes/ps2 pad?

I dont like 6 buttons, I prefer 4 buttons for lights and mids and right bumber and right trigger for heavys!

the 6 buttons wouldn't HINDER the 4 button games at all. It just doesn't make any sense other than "quick way to make a few bucks"

TBH, I would hate playing fighting games on a controller like the Saturn 6 + 2 button layout. I'd rather my other buttons be on the top just like the current Dual Shock family has them.

I agree. I didn't like the Saturn pad myself I prefer stick or the DS

Its a preference issue dude! I grew up playing fighters on snes then ps but I feel like snes pads are better than ps.

Yeah I am sure it can be done. Especially since the form factor of the ps4 controller is larger. I am assuming Gummowned can do them if he has the time. I waited for him to dual mod a ps3 pad for over 2 months though and just told him to forget about it yesterday since I have been waiting way too long.. so YMMV if you are going to him for something...

No dual mod. I just use my DS4 on my PS3 though. Unfortunately I'm torturing myself with the XB1 pad until someone makes a converter.

My condolences. In all honesty I probably would have shelled out 500+ for KI by now if the controller had good reviews. Sorry MS you lose again... Hoping for a KI PC release at some point...

The xbox one dpad is definitely much better than the xbox 360, but there are still problems with it. I would like to make this thread on multiple forums and submit this to http://www.evilcontrollers.com/

This company has made a dpad for the xbox 360 which I love * http://www.evilcontrollers.com/products/xbox-360-controller-parts/evil-d-pad-face-plates.html , but many people still have a problem with it. When I talked to their live chat they said the xbox one dpad had multiple improvements, but were still interested in my concern. By these multi-site threads I hope that they see people want a BETTER dpad!!!

Here are things I've heard about evil...

EVIL DPAD PROBLEMS:
-Buttons are spaced too far apart
-Icon in the middle becomes unglued due to sweaty hands and makes a sticky mess

XBOX ONE DPAD PROBLEMS:

-Hard edges
-Not easy to make Forward, Down, Forward motions *dragon punches* especially on the right side of the dpad.
-Lack of accuracy
-Needs spaced buttons *ps2 inspired*

Evil Controllers also makes very nice custom and FPS based controllers that are definitely worth the investment!

Lets show them that we want something better and we know this company is the one that can provide that!

Get your mate to make more of those Frankenstein pads!

Only thing I'm waiting for before getting a XBone. Mad Catz sucked at making 6 button controllers tho. Leave it to Hori, the FC3 Pro and the 2Way are the best.

Yes, after a game of KI, I have often found myself falling to my knees out of despair, holding my Xbox One controller aloft with a near vice like grip and screaming "WHHHHHYYYY NINTENDO?!?!?! WHHHHHHYYYYY HAVE YOU DONE THIS TO MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!"

I would just like to point out, this may be my personal view but to Microsoft's credit I like everything about the xbox controller design (triggers, spacing of 1234, and analog sticks) more than the ps3 design. Just with the exception of the dpad, which is a very easy fix -- just separate it into 4 buttons.

Anyone have experience with the Razer Sabertooth or Onza 360 pads? Sabertooth looks like it's based on the PS4 D-pad while the Onza appears to have individual buttons for each direction (i.e. you're not pushing down a big flat disc in a certain spot - each direction is its own individual button). Not sure if that would be a help or hindrance for fighting games.
