Tech - Drunken Master Using The Meatiest of Farts (Drink Responsibly)

Hey guys! So as you may or may not know, making your farts meaty is a very useful practice as you are absurdly plus afterwards. Dragon's Breath has been keeping this tech greedily to itself for awhile (having the easiest time applying the fart, not necessarily the only variation to use it but definitely uses it best) and well honestly after playing a long set against my good friend @Mr Aquaman and being forced to eat meaty farts for the majority of that set I thought to myself, "How can the Drunken Memester use this?" so I ran to the lab and the results seem to be filled with potential.

So How Does It Work?
So in the case of Dragon's Fire, the meaty fart setup is basically a combo with a lot of gravity ending with a fart that will then hit the opponent meaty. Our only problem is that while we can add plenty of gravity to a combo, we have time constraints. Have no fear though! I labbed it and here is an example of how you'll be doing this.

The simplest bit of this whole meaty fart business is opening up your opponent. This could even occur after your meaty fart. However for this bit let's say you open them up with a simple 244 xx Meditation->3 mixup. Here's how that combo would go

244 xx Meditaion->3, S3 xx DB4, DD1, B233 xx Meditation->3, 21, 21, D1 xx DB4

Alright so there is only one option that will punish this outright and that is tech roll wakeups (i encourage people to lab this for some better stuff as I didn't spend all TOO long on this) and that will only beat it if the opponent has a 8f or faster armored reversal (non-armored moves will get stuffed and armored moves that are any slower will be slow enough for you to block them.) So only a select few characters in the cast can punish this and again that's only if they tech roll. After that it's pretty self explanatory. Mix them to death with plus frames and such.

NOTE: After a F34 You will only do one 21 before doing D1 xx DB4 instead of two

So yea, there's my application of meaty farts. Keep in mind that you're Drunken Master and that the opponent guessing right on this meaty far could mean a lot more than it does for Dragon's Breath but I still think we can benefit heavily from this kind of thing. Keep an eye out for more Drunken Master tech from me, I just picked him up, he's tons of fun. If you wanna see me get bodied by Aquaman in that set I was talking about, link is here

https://www.stream.me/archive/mraquaman/mkx-on-ps4-mustache-and-a-dream/5MYa7BP4qW

Starts a little bit before the half way mark (keep in mind, it is NOT a pretty sight. I get bodied super hard but I feel like I didn't do as badly as I could have. Probably just extreme unfamiliarity with the character on my part plus me not being nearly as good at this game as Aquaman is. Criticism is not only welcomed but encourage tbh but please do that in a different thread, this thread is about the setup, the link is just here to demonstrate how dumb this kind of thing is on Dragon's Breath and why we should use it)

As always I hope you enjoyed this thread and if you watch the set I hope you enjoy that as well. Take care!

would 23 mediation 3 not be a better option to open them up? cause dat 50/50? or does that cause the combo to not work

Well technically 244 into meditation 3 is also a mixup because of the possibility of you canceling into monkey flips instead (which is overhead)

I speak truth, no lie
That can be the case but Drunken Master has a timer. This gives him more time to play with than monkey flips.
I think ive labbed this. You have like 5 secs to hit the "f3 or b3 drink" before you puke again. I guess thats the risk reward behind monkey flips. Your opponent cant tech roll but it eats up the drink timer. Btw i thought everybody was cashing out in damage now since everybody has 2 hits of armor

If your opponent has no bar they can't armor and you're heavily plus. It's less about breaking armor and more about the heavy plus frames now.

this is what I do with dm in the corner I do 244 dd3 3 f21 db4 b233 dd3 3 standing 2 db3 fart it used to break most every ones armor but now everyone has two hits so it doesn't but it's still a really good meaty fart set up you basically get 1 mix up before you throw up if you wanna play it safe you can always just roll away and drink right after your mix up attempt is done with I usually just do 244 and roll away and drink

Man drunken master is so bad it's a shame he got no buffs
It's sad really. Dragon's Fire does everything DM wants to do better and with a ton less risk. And if you want better midscreen game (which let's be honest. if DM didn't have the crippling disability of Alcoholism, his midscreen game would be the best of the three) you just pick Bartitsu. That D4 tho.

Make dd3 2, 7 frames and extend its reach.
Increas drink timer to 15 seconds.
Eh? eh?

Actually monkeyflips on an airborne opponent where the last flip hits is always a safe drink because of the knockdown. If I'm not mistaken you are slightly plus after the drink, but not really that much. This does however make the drink alot easier to get.

Dm needs the player to re center what you want. You want to play dry until you see something that makes it time to drink. If the enemy wants to zone, dd4xxdd1->exbf3, if you land a fart setup, and have the ability to push to the corner, its time to drink. Thing about it being time to drink is that as soon as it is time to drink, you cannot stop until you either lose the buff( by hangover or during various safe times) or one of you loses. As such you are going to need to be able to get drinks off of everything. D4-> drink is something I've been labbing a bit. it isn't safe but you generally want the enemy to try and run in after a d4, it makes your setups work better, so doing this, especially on someone who njp's after d4, is a worthwhile investment.

As far as mixups go you want f3 dd33, b3 dd33, b233xxdd33, 1212xxdd33, f1xxdd33, 244xxdd33, if you are in the corner you can use 34xxdd33, but it pushes too far midscreen. With dm though, don't understimate the usefulness of delaying the 3 during meditation or the power of roll away, sumo stomp into drink. most of the time if they see bo go into sexypose, they either fear the crazylegs or want to poke you out. roll away stomp hits on both of these, and if you time it right, gives you a free drink.

If I were to give advice to what I saw against aquaman, use headbutt, and ex headbutt more, that damage will make anyone think twice about attacking on wakeup or jumping away(as you can snipe jumps pretty well with it). use grab into drink and exbumpndump into drink more. you used it, but it seemed kinda inconsistent.

As far as DB vs DM, yeah breath is easier to use and safer, but DM's versatility and potential make him much more fun. The tool that we get that Breath doesn't get is access to a meterless low launcher that we can essentially put wherever we want, so long as bo is close enough to them when he hits the ground. b32? works. DM is also better at handling zoning as well, unless its ground based zoining like tremor. The roll is super useful, and really does alot to help establish bo's slipperyness. I'm ass but ill post my match vs aquaman too.
