TYM White Knight
Good Morning everyone, I am going to post this very disorganized tech video (forgive me, I was in a really big rush) about how Jade can use her reversal parry to beat out D1 D1 D1 and D1 throw.
So, to explain what's going on here a little clearer....Throws in MK11 are insanely strong. Basically, as soon as they are active, they will crush pokes and mids. Offline, this isn't a big issue because you can reliably counter poke a blocked poke...but online where there is any form of delay, you may find yourself being gimmicked to death by d1~throw or D1, D1.
Why Does this gimmicky crap work?
Because in MK11 if your poke is LATE, the throw will eat it alive. It doesn't matter if it's an uppercut, d1, d3, or a d4 that throw is going to crush it. The only way to truly beat the throw in a poke/counterpoke situation is to immediately counter poke it, or neutral duck, which online may mean you eat another D1 and get put back in the same situation.
The Tech
So after getting tilt by a few online scorpions, I decided to hit the lab and see if I could figure out a way to stop the mindless mashers (d1, D1 throw etc) who had no respect for the poke/counterpoke game or whoms internet has taught them terrible habits.
If you reversal a blocked d1 (or d3 or d4) and follow up with Jade's Parry, it will cover a follow up d1 with a punish, it will cover an upclose throw with a punish, and the beautiful part is, if you do this and the their throw whiffs (which it will more often than not) you are left with enough + frames to take advantage of it.
Why is this important?
Jades whiffed Parry recovers quicker than a whiffed throw. So in a situation where a player tries to D1 throw and they are spaced too far away for the parry to connect, the throw will whiff and you will be left at around +5/6. This means you get a free B3 check against a mash happy scorpion player, or you are going to force them to jump/do unsafe things. The first time you do this I can almost guarantee you are going to obliterate a scorpion for a full combo. I am assuming this move is +5 because b3 (11f) It can trade with Geras 6f D1 is it's perfectly timed, but I will need to test it a little more.
Also, this is going to force smarter players to stop mashing d1 d1 and maybe resort to perhaps a d3 or a d4 which is a much slower and usually easier option to counter poke and play around. Plus, if they start firing out d3's at worst you just took a poke and not a throw and reset the neutral situation. It's going to allow you to reliably start counter poking and not worry about throws.
Other benefits
This has been the absolute 100% best way I have found to actually utilize Jade's parry crushing blow. If you catch an opponent twice with this on defense, they now have to respect the Krushing blow on the next parry, which means they most likely are going to either stop mashing d1's or are going to start trying to bait your parry with d3's or a low string. Problem is, in both of these situations if they respect and fear the parry, you are left with a TON of frames to hit buttons with against those players anytime they mash a d1. It's a really difficult concept for scrubbier and more random online players to deal with (omg I have to think).
In Conclusion
This isn't ground breaking, but good lord it works. I encourage you to take this online and give it a whirl and laugh at how many people you catch with it. I would appreciate feedback and once again I appologize for my narration in the video. I may have had one to many vodka's last night
