I'm not saying that the hint means "under the hood". But if it did, Ed Boon wouldn't specify the colour otherwise it would be too obvious.

I don't think it's too far fetched. Boon is very clever, he probably chose these clues deliberately to accommodate hints that relate towards Power Girl, Zatanna and Red Hood. (Maybe)
