August 18th, 8 on the Break - Dunellen, NJ. UMK3 goodness. Be there peeps. Show up early afternoon to get some practice in.

Original post for previous Break tournament:

Right now I'm pushing for a bunch of us to just show up July 7th at the Break for a UMK3 tournament. There are a LOT of players now who can make it who all live within an hour or so of the place. That's about 2 1/2 weeks away.

Let me know guys and I'll start making contacts.

I just want to get people together, we can play at like a $10 entry fee or whatever, it won't be in the midst of some huge tournament. I want to see how many people I can get together. LOL@Thrower's interest in a random tournament at the Break but not Evo!

Well I guess right now it's me, Frankie and Summoning, Frankie where are the LI guys from the Skate Shop? I'd like to get them out there.

Me and my two buddies are in Scranton, PA, it looks like its about 100 miles... so we might be able to make it.

Only thing... is there any chance of making it July 8th (a Sunday) None of us have work on Sundays so we'd be able to go for sure.

Dude I drive 100 miles give or take, its like a 1.5 hour drive for me. Its worth it though man, just to re-live old school style arcades and real deal fighting games. I was so utterly happy when I went my first time.

I'm going to a concert on Sunday. If by some stroke of amazement a ton of guys want to push it back to the following Sunday after the 8th we can do that but Saturdays are good for most people.

I can probably make it on the Saturday if everyone's set with that day. It'd be cool to have one on a Sunday at some point, though, so my two buddies can make it. They're both pretty good at UMK3 and they never work on Sundays...

I have a UMK3 cabinet at my house, so maybe some day in the future I'll host a tournament (I'll need to run it by the GF, so I don't get my balls cut off.)
I have an MKII cabinet, as well, but I have it sort-of taken apart. But it would give people something to do while they wait... or maybe even have an MKII tourney, too.

I know exactly how you feel. I live 20 min from Shock but I couldn't go to any tourneys at The Break. Depressing that im so close, yet so far :?

There is no age for the tournaments, there are people there that are like 16 years old give or take playing games. Come down if you guys can or want to. Relize its on a cabinet though, no control pads so you'll have to learn to play with a stick ;) .

If at least 8 people guarantee they will be there we can make this definite. I already took off that weekend anyway.

shock can you get them to move the machine so we have more than an inch to play , last time i went it was unbearable !

I dunno if we'll even be able to get a significant number of people out there, looks like no one's interested at the moment.
