Not to mention, most of the used Fairies have secondary weaknesses you can take advantage of, anyway. You don't even have to deal with the Fairy type itself. The only pure Fairies are Clefable and Sylveon. Both still don't like physical attacks that much, especially not from Excadrill or Scizor.
4x weak to Steel, 2x weak to Water/Grass/Fighting/Ground, losing Fighting resistance...if this thing is a tank, it sure as hell gets mopped up by common attacking types.

Yeah but now, offensively, it's pretty pointless as well. Fairy covers the main draw of Ice (Dragon-slaying), on top of also beating Fighting and Dark types.

Toxicroak was OU last gen because of weather being so fucked up. Its ability, Dry Skin, was pretty sweet in the rain. But outside of its ability, it's too slow of a Mon to work that well offensively, and it isn't bulky enough to last to get something out. Sucker Punch is actually a shitty priority option, for the simple fact that it's a priority option that fails if the opponent isn't attacking. Which means if he uses it, he runs the risk of letting hazards through or eating a status ailment.
yeah but just look at OU... and then look at what all Toxicroak can WRECK just because of water immunity, a boosting move, and good coverage of pretty much everything outside of a few good mons.
Yeah, once he's in and able to get things rolling, he's fine. It's just getting him in at the right time is the issue.
