In this TYM Podcast episode, for the first time, possibly ever, you learn exactly how far back players like Shock AND Tom Brady go when it comes to the FGC. For example: Back in 2005 when there was a big (to us it was big) online competitive scene for Mortal Kombat Deception, there was also an offline competitive scene... which few of the online players knew existed. We were basically two different worlds; online and offline.

With Shock's wealth of knowledge, he tells stories from back in the 90's and early 00's. I speak of going to my first offline event (East Cast Throwdown 2), etc. It was a different world back then where offline events for Mortal Kombat meant you had a handful of players, literally. It wasn't until Mortal Kombat 9 until our offline scene really blossomed. Have a listen and enjoy.

Curious, who are all the players in the pic? I know who some are from memory but others I forgot.

Always fun to hear classic MK discussion.

From left to right, CD Prime, THTB, REO, Dark Rob, Summoning in the back, STORMS in the middle, Juggernaut, Tom Brady hidden behind Marvirrasta, Shock, AC1984, NoDoubt Arion, and Marv's friends genuflecting in the front.

Good stuff, thanks for actually doing a podcast on some of the history of the competitive MK scene.

I got to say though, on that picture posted above from the mid 2000's, I really do not miss that fashion style.
