Tournament Results Project

Hey TYM,

I need to gather tournament results for the entire history of MK9. I'm going to need them for 2 projects that will benefit the community. I'm not so concerned about 5-man tournaments; but I'm looking for results all midsized locals to majors.

The more detailed the results (i.e. places lower than top8, or brackets/opponents faced/scores) the better.

I'm going to start digging, but anyone that has links to pieces of this info and could post them, would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks in advance :)

-Crim

Update:
If you went to 1 or more midsized locals/majors in 2011/2012, and you can remember your placing and who you faced, please add the info to this thread: http://testyourmight.com/threads/list-your-tournament-placings-and-opponents.25417/

you should put a cap for lowest entrance to more easily avoid the 5 man tourny stuff.
also even though you say you want the entire tourny history of mk9, im taking it this project is only for tournys held in US/Canada?

Event Hubs is good. You can just Google "Event Hubs CEO 2011" and get that top 8. If there's something specific you need I can try to remember. I've wasted a lot of brain power on MK results. For example, I can tel you that the Evo 2011 top 16 9th-13th placers were Valle, Aris, Michaelangelo and Konqrr got 9th. Teabag, Detroit, Sabin and Kodee got 13th.

should this include large scale online tournaments? for example the mlg/playstation online tourny that pig won to get him to dallas for free had 64 people, so surely that's not insignificant (even though it's online)

Hey GGA 16 Bit -- I'm trying to get as deep into the brackets as possible. The goal is to compile a full list of all results, and players faced.. Or if that proves impossible, at least top32 or whatever we can get.

Toro, right now it seems best to start with offline; if we did online, it'd probably be best to make a separate section for it due to the conditions involved.

I don't know if you can get top 16 except the MLG's and Evo's. Even I cannot remember the top 16 for SB:A and that was a month ago. I know 9th was me, Moe, Soonk and Forever King but I have no idea about 13th.

I think someone actually started a project like this for an alternative to NFG points. As in, people got points for their placing, but also for their participation (depending on how many others attended.) I will serch for it...but I bet Blackula knows... he is the ultimate historian
I think if you're going to rank people, it makes the most sense to do it based on who they beat; that automatically eliminates the need to worry about the tournament size etc. i.e. if you went to a 20 man tourney and beat REO and Maxter, that should count for more than beating a bunch of not-so-great-players to get 1st at a 40-man tourney.

Blackula somehow manages to find full results for like every east coast tournament. they're posted....... somewhere

this project already fails..

there were 2 tourneys (ECT and SJ) held on the same day as an MLG event.

Also...

There were certain players who could not compete in MLG. they get no rankings for SJ and ECT because they were at MLG events, but they could not compete in the MLG events they were in. SO.. when you try to fix it and include MLG's, some players lose out on 6+ events.

You also left off PU2012..

just doing a ranking in 2012 doesnt work for accuracy due to these reasons. you can rank 2011, probably even do something in 2013.

[etc]
Whoa Tom Brady, slow down a bit.. This isn't a complete list.. The reason I made this thread is to ask for everyone's help in building a list of results and tournaments. What you see is just what I've gathered so far (starting about an hour ago), and is by no means a complete list yet. I need everyone's help to add in everything that happened from April of 2011.

MLG is the first item on the list; they have complete results for all events, so we can cross that off the list of things we need.

Edit: O yeah it was DanCock in http://testyourmight.com/threads/incomplete-errors-found-tym-mk9-tournament-players-rankings.16271/
I said fuck it. A bunch of cry babies freaked out because I had stated and they over looked that I had yet to add 3 tournaments to the list. I'm not doing that work again.

I SEE EVERYTHING!
I'm gonna have to bow out on this one. I generally help with getting results posted as soon as they happen. That's a lot of work to look for every event in the past to get results, considering that during the times the site was down, we did lose some information.

Because you are part of the imcomplete results for Summer Slam.. Read the topic post!
I tied for 9th with RiBBz22... not sure who else. I lost to MK_Legend 0-2, Defeated Espio 2-1, and was Babied by Soonk's KL on stream 0-2.
Pretty sure m2dave won, with Master D and Forever King and Wafflez and Dizzy placing very high. I just don't remember who finished up where.

Check Medina4life 's stream archive, pretty sure it happened on his stream.
