Timing of Killer Instinct Manuals-Maybe this helps?

Notice in the pause after the first heavy manual I had taken notice of "something"? I noticed that when Jago's head was punched, and his head would throw back and then re-face you, that as he turned his head back to re-face me, the point at which his chin aligned with the center mark of his chest that was the instant to do the manual.

I experimented with each of the varying strengths of manuals and the timing for each seems easier to land once I tried this technique. It does still require focus and timing to catch the instant to do the input, but I felt a visual indicator would be helpful :)

This is a combo for Trial #19 Killer Instict Dojo Mode.

Like the Manuals video, after the Shadow Wind Kick and the Dummy Jago's chin was aligned with the center mark on his chest, I input the manual.

Just to be sure: The point at which I should perform the input, should be when his head comes back to where it originally was?
The manual from what I notice, is the point before that because his eyes aren't gonna lock with yours..it is when his chin is directly aligned with the center of his body..I hope this helps somewhat :)

I'm trying to now take the input display off because I can tell when the manual connects and when it does in real play..I'm on Trial 26 and will re-do them..they truly are wonderful in learning hitboxes, anti-airs, tech throwing, footies..I think newer KI players like me (2 weeks in) needed a starting point to gauge timing because the time between opener/linker/ender with the manual has so much guesswork that people had no idea where to at least attempt to time when to input the manual, that was what I was striving for,.to help :)

Yeah, I noticed that there's always a visual cue to when you'll get the manual, I've been experimenting all day and I wa able to get a few Fulgore manual combos.

I bought my Xbone a few weeks ago, but I hadn't played KI because I was hoping to buy an arcade stick. I finally gave in and started playing so I'm a day old now lol.

Mind if I add you to spar?

Hitting your manuals just comes down to practise untill u get the timing down and it becomes muscle memory. One tip, try to have some space between pressing button for manual and your linker. Well it works for me cause i often messed up quickly tapping manual and linker without pauze between it.

I think they are easier than SFIV, but still you need to really practice doing the manuals in order to master them.

Jago is a good character to start practicing the Manuals, his manuals are not that hard.

Also im not sure about this, but I think that there are characters who are harder to do manuals with than other characters.

Thanks, im looking at using Orchid when i get the game but plan on using Jago first so i can do all the trials to learn the mechanics. Thanks for the reply. the one frame links in SFIV were annoying but im hoping to learn manuals.

THIS

Practice and try not to dial in the auto double right after the opener or linkers...
It's also easier to start with light manuals and work your way up to heavy manuals.
