Note: Staff members reserve the right to change/edit/delete any content at any time and warn the person posting that content if the staff feels it is inappropriate.

1. AVOID DOING THESE THINGS

Breaking any of these rules will result in an "infraction." An infraction is a warning that can be handed out by our staff. These infractions carry various point values. Once you hit 12 points, you will be subject to a ban until those points expire.

  • 1.1: Flaming, insulting, or trolling other users or staff members.
  • 1.2: Personally harassing a user via threads, status updates, or PM.
    • This includes "call-out" posts or status updates. If you have something to say to or about someone, you do it via PM or message them on another platform. Attempts to score internet points by dunking on known players, or to try to have public fights with other users, will not be tolerated.
    • If you feel the need to bring something to the community's attention, but are unsure if it violates this rule, please PM a mod or admin and we'll be happy to assist you.
    • Further clarification: Competitive call-outs are fine, like challenging someone to a beef set. However, if they decline, that's the end of it, at least on TYM.
  • 1.3: Making racist, homophobic, or sexist remarks (This includes attempting to bypass any filters.)
  • 1.4: Using profanity in thread titles.
  • 1.5: Abusing or encouraging abuse of the Report, Private Messaging, or Resource Systems.
  • 1.6: Posting personally identifiable information (i.e. name, address, email, phone number, etc.)
  • 1.7: Bumping (dead) threads.
  • 1.8: Derailing a thread's topic.
  • 1.9: Posting spam or Re-posting Closed, Modified, or Deleted Content.
  • 1.10: Repeatedly posting in the incorrect forum
  • 1.11: Openly arguing with a moderator. Contact the Moderator via a private message.
  • 1.12: Publicly posting or otherwise sharing PMs with other users, unless you have the expressed permission of the sender to do so.
  • 1.13: Posting links to illegal materials (games, streams, software, phishing sites, etc) This also includes posting footage of games prior to their official street date release.
  • 1.14: Posting a topic already listed in the forums.
  • 1.15: Posting Spoilers for a game, movie, tournament, etc
  • 1.16: Advertising a competitors website solely to draw members away from TYM.
  • 1.17: No Bashing Developers click the spoiler
    - This doesn't mean you cannot post your grievances, but when doing so it needs to be in a constructive manner. In case you're new to the community and NetherRealm Studios' games... they have been listening to us and our community WAY MORE than in previous years. They are now literally part of our community. With this said, we want them to feel welcome when coming to our forums and entering our discussions... we need to avoid the "toxic" atmosphere that is sometimes described on forums.

With this said, post your grievances with open arms and not clenched fists when typing. After all chances are, you're not the only one who feels the way you do. We simply require this type of discussion to be civil and anti-hateful.
  • 1.18: Do not post multiple status updates in a row in a short period of time (a matter of minutes).
  • 1.19: No political posts. You may post a reminder to go vote, but may not endorse or attack any political party or candidate on this site.
2. BANNABLE OFFENSES

Breaking any of these rules may result in an immediate and permanent ban from the site.

  • 2.1: Posting pornography of any kind. Includes posts, avatars, signatures, and links to objectionable material. This also includes anything strategically censored.
  • 2.2: Making alternate or duplicate accounts.
  • 2.3: Making physical threats, whether in a joking or serious manner (This may also result in additional, more serious consequences beyond the realm of TYM.)
  • 2.4: Continually breaking forum rules after having received a lesser ban.
  • 2.5: Posting story-related spoilers in Profile Posts or in forum posts without spoiler tags.
3. Selling/Trading/Buying on TYM
4. Reporting Posts
  • 4.1: Should you observe a fellow forum member breaking these rules please report the post by clicking "Report" located underneath every post, or feel free to contact any staff member.
5. Posting Kombo Videos
  • 5.1: All Kombo videos must include written notation or they will be removed.
  • 5.2: Every character forum has a Kombos thread. All kombo-related content should be posted in these threads. Creating a new thread to post a Kombo is not allowed and such threads will be removed.
If you have any questions regarding TYM site rules, please contact any member of the site staff. Thank you.

Update: Added clarification to rule 1.2 regarding "call-out" posts. It doesn't matter how well-known the player is, that is still personal harassment, it has no merit, and it will not be tolerated on TYM.

Update: Added a new section dealing with the posting of Kombo videos. These new rules should help cut down on people spamming kombo videos for Youtube views.

Update: Posting story-related spoilers in Profile Posts or in a forum without using Spoiler tags can result in a permanent ban, at the discretion of TYM mods. Please try not to spoil the story for those who don't wish to be spoiled.

Censorship on TYM:

We've all heard the argument. "But this is an M-rated game! There are blood and guts! Why can't I post [insert inappropriate comment or pic here] on TYM???"

Well, yes, the GAME is M-Rated, but we have many users who view these forums from places where they don't want to have to worry about something inappropriate popping up on their screen. Thus, anything posted on these forums needs to be SFW or needs to have appropriate spoiler tags to prevent accidental viewing.

Posting anything in public view that TYM leadership does not deem appropriate for a general audience will result in at least a temporary ban. This includes Status Updates, Signatures, Profile Pics, Thread Titles, and non-tagged posts.

Nudity is NOT a requirement for something to be deemed inappropriate. Profile pics that focus on boobs, butts, crotches, feet, or that otherwise fetishize the characters, are not appropriate for this site and can result in a ban.
