i think its way too early to start being pessimistic about it. sure, i would have liked a new Killer Instinct more, but the news of an all DC fighter by NRS goes into the good news section of my brain. i will wait to read/see more before criticizing.

Yeah, it seems 2D with 3D interactions (like the car being in the background, but able to be interacted with).
