The "I'm learning a new character so cut me some slack thread"

In light of my recent picking up of Smoke, and the losses that come with the inexperience, I have decided to make this thread to stop the people who "OMG I R SO GEWD" and bust a nut all over their controller before tea bagging into a fatality and declining a rematch. Basically, post in here if you want to tell people to calm their tits if they beat you while you go about expanding your character portfolio.

I'll go first, l Enenra l is learning Smoke.

Me? No. I have flirted with him but always lost interest after a few matches. After a realization, and several recommendations, that my play style is a footsies based keepaway (Basically I kick you in the shin and run away like a bitch) I have bit the bullet to finally learn the master of being a douche.

I have mained Reptile, Ermac, Noob, Scorpion, Skarlet, and Cyrax while I currently main Sub Zero, secondary Sektor, and am learning Smoke.

And I do want to play you as well, thanks for the kind words, and we will make it happen. I never see you online though lol.

I need a zoning character. Ermac i have been playing forever but his slow strings and lack of mixups piss me off. I'd like to learn either Sektor (not cause of FV) or Kitana, and drop Ermac.

Sektor gets good damage, easy zoning, missile pressure set-ups and baddass mutherfuckery all round. Plus, Flamethrower is an epic, grounding your opponent to prevent that oki nonsense and maintaining pressure, AND a good AA...geezus lol. But his strings are short ranged and whiff alot on crouch, and apparently Human Sektor is weaker, which is not cool (i want to play human but maximizze my potential as well).

Kitana is a babe. Amazing air control that would match my Kung Lao excellently. Good damage and mixups; you can end all blockstrings with cutter which is great. Ridiculous range on her strings and pokes, iafans that lead to big combos fullscreen (i need to get used to it though). But her combos are harder to execute, she has no armor and and no wake-up game.

Personally, I'd go Sektor. Because I did.
And don't drop Ermac, I made that mistake. He is an amazing character. Secondary him at worst, but don't drop him.

Compare this to my other mains, Kung Lao (his 2 is 7 frames ) and Sub (his 2 is 9 frames), and you can see my frustration. Im an aggressive player, i love being in your face unless i'm fighting Cage or Sonya. Kitana and Sektor can manage up-close engagements better than Ermac.

Im an aggressive player, i love being in your face unless i'm fighting Cage or Sonya. Kitana and Sektor can manage up-close engagements better than Ermac.

Gotcha. Then go Sektor for sure.

I will never drop Sub! I love him, and he is my best and favorite character. Just want another character to master as well

Sektor is a very powerful fighter. But he is one of the tougher fighters to learn. Also, this character has a lot of freedom. You have multiple play styles to choose from. He can rush down and be in your face. This is how I play him. He can play very effective keep away, though you have to master the IATU. Which is not easy. He punishes for 40+ percent into reset. 6 frame jab, f2 is very underestimated. Flame thrower is gdlk. He is great, but it takes time to master his options... Still not as FUCKING ANNOYING AS SHANG TSUNG. I have a love hate relationship with Shang until I master his retarded execution.

As for Kitana. Don't. She'll drag you down to video game hell, along with Cyrax and a few others.
