At least they did it great. Only ONE guest character and he is from anothert Japanese FIGHTING GAME. This is how you do guest characters without annoying the fans, NRS. Take some notes.

My sentiments exactly. If there was ever to be a guest character in Tekken 7 there couldn't be a better fit than Akuma. My hype couldn't be contained!

Probably the best announcement in modern gaming. No one knew or even slightly expected that shit. This will definitely get Tekken into some more hands.

Akuma's neato and all, but the thing that has me the most hype is NEW OUTFITS!

I was seriously bummed out about most of the returning cast having the same old outfits for a third time in a row, but these new outfits look great and have reignited my hype for Tekken 7.

Although I dislike guest characters in general, adding in guests from rival fighting game franchises is probably the only exception.

It would have been so damn hype if Kombat Pack 2 had Akuma and Kazuya instead of movie-promoting characters.

This is fucking worse and if you think otherwise you're delusional.

Akuma has been forcibly shoved into Tekkens lore whether the fans like it or not, unlike NRS's DLC guests which are purely non-canon. Imagine if Leatherface was in MK's story officially and was part of something as important as killing Subzero(much like Akuma is supposed to for Heihachi).

Akuma is in the initial roster, meaning if you don't like Akuma you don't have the choice to not buy him or see him, unlike NRS's DLC guests. If you want to play Tekken 7 YOU ARE FORCED to get Akuma as well.

Think about this as a person who may not like Akuma, may not know about Akuma, or may not like Street Fighter. Just like you dislike Leatherface/Predator/Jason or whoever. Imagine if your favorite MK character that was in the initial roster of MKX was instead replaced by Jason. Now do the same with Tekken and replace that character with Akuma.

There is only ONE guest right now, this game hasn't even been given a console release date yet, for all you know there could be 5 more guest coming.



All of this said, I love Akuma so i'm not mad in the slightest.

Just from what I saw in the trailer, it looks like they're gonna do Gouki right and fit him into the story in a cool way. Also... they're still working on Tekken X StreetFighter so, it's a good step towards that.

I'm not disagreeing with either of you.

I'm just saying if you're a person who loves Tekken's story and doesn't like guest character you probably will hate the fact that a guest character is now forcibly being shoved into Tekken's story.

Which is why he's "worse" than MK's guest because they aren't a part of the story and you have the option of avoiding them altogether. And they also aren't taking up initial roster space.
