Is "Ninja" still considered offensive? Or is it just because that's the way the brand has been for a long time now?

No, I dont think its offensive anymore.
In most of europe they thought the word Ninja was to agressive and violent for a Cartoon for Kids. Same goes for Mikes nunchaku.

Oh wow, I didn't even get that William Fitchtner was Shredder. I didn't even conceive that as a possibility. Goddammit...it's The Last Samurai all over again...

Dude just by rounding out their Snouts it totally makes a big difference in a good way and the lips being reduced helps as well.... They should have gone this route....

I hate the new flaring nostrils and giants man lips...

To be honest our boy Cary Tagawa would have been perfect. He's Japanese like Shredder is supposed to be. And please someone tell me William Fichtner is a better actor than Cary if thats their argument.
