Strategy Sword Spin snuffing cross ups?

I did this by accident in a online match. Basically the guy jumped I was trying to do sword flip but he crossed me up and sword spin came out and stopped his cross up attack .Idk if this works all the time I have to keep testing it against each character to see if its viable or not.If you guys wanna test it out feel free.

It does have a hitbox behind him. I've always speculated that this was possible, but I've yet to test it out.
It's a good thing that move is there though, that way if someone jumps over you and you do DF3, either sword mvoe will come out, each punishing the jump over (that is, if this DOES snuff crossups).

Sword Spin seems to get invincibility frames when used on wakeup, which I've found helpful with oki crossups. When I can actually time my wake up move properly, that is (too much SF4 making me lazy with wakeup timing)
