STB Sgt Reed
Online Warrior
I may make an appearance. Gotta come out of the hermitage every once and awhile
You ain't lying my friend... we will get there though. We gotta make this first one make an impact!Man times like this i wish Battlefield Knoxville was still open. That would have been the perfect venue.
Thank you, @Israfel I'm trying brotherThis is awesome. Good luck @Aqueous_Echo I wish I lived a little closer so I could attend. If I win the lottery soon and can afford whatever my little heart desires then I will make an appearance. I am trying to help my local scene grow as well, I just found out that the next event for fighting games won't be until the winter because of....sports games...bleh. We had a big enough showing that I think we could definitely have a monthly, just need a venue is what I was told by the TO
You better!I may make an appearance. Gotta come out of the hermitage every once and awhile
That's why I love STB and the #bonehawks always doing everythingto help the scene grow, even if it isn't their sceneThank you, @Israfel I'm trying brother
Sometimes you just gotta say "fuck it. If no one else is gonna do it, I'll find the people that can make it happen."
If you ever need anything man like flyers or whatever, I would be more than happy to help at no cost.
Yeah don't want too much text and I don't know what made me do it but I love that I saturated scorpion but put blood on him and kept it redThat flyer is so simple but so sexy all at the same time. I always love minimalist approach
Going to work the date/time this week. Will try and make it so everyone has a chance to get off work and things. Is there a date?
That's awesome and I'm glad to hear it. We need to make sure we make good attendance and meet their expectations. If we could turn this into a monthly, that would be awesome. I'd personally probably only be able to make it every other month or so (finances permitting) but it's always nice to know when the option's there. 3 hours away is a good bit further than YOMI in ATL, but also a lot less intimidating for a new guy like myselfOP updated (12:52pm Aug 25)
Talked to the venue today. These guys are suuuper interested in this event guys. So much so they wanted to know if WE would like this to be a weekly/bi weekly/monthly event. For now this is just a one time event but with enough support and attendance we can make this a recurring thing!!!
On site they have wifi (possible stream if I bring my equipment which I will), 2 65" flat screens, seating capacity of up to 100 people, and POSSIBLE discounts for competitors (this is to be discussed)
Just an FYI/update for you guys! We have made out footprint!
It's possible some YOMI guys show up. Nothing concrete but one of our members is in talks. That's awesome and I'm glad to hear it. Oh yeah, definitely. It's not far off from their home base. But having a few of them is definitely less intimidating than going to their HQ and potentially having to deal with all of them. After I get a few of these tournaments under my belt, I'll gladly go to ATL and deal with those scrubs (HAHAHAHAHA). I just need more offline experience, being an online warrior sucks. I've heard STB is a pretty kickass crew too so I figure it's worth checking out what happens when I end up around some of you guys. It's possible some YOMI guys show up. That's precisely why I go to events that I can drive to and back from or have a buddy that lives near that I can stay at. When you're just paying the entrance fee and gas... it's not bad at all.Oh yeah, definitely. It's not far off from their home base. By this time next year, I should have 0 fear. Hope it's not invasive to ask, but aside from the people who make good money at majors and what not, how is everyone affording to travel? I'm sure it's not as expensive as it seems, especially since I would only go to events I can drive to for now, but it seems like the hotel stays would be where the true expenses kick in

I'm on PSN, but I know if I look around here I can find some people to train with. I'm honestly just getting miffed with online, I feel like even with the best training there I'm somewhat limited. So I'm going to start exploring the locals in my area just to the best of my ability. I'll be finding some people to level up before this starts up for sure. Once I get some solid offline experience, I think i'll be able to find my place.Where to start here...
First I'm always happy to help someone get better via online or offline. I had to be good already just to turn some heads in STB before I got in. They look for a lot more than just how good you are as a player however. So with that said I'd love to help jump your game up before this event. HMU on xbox. Hopefully you're not PS cause I don't own one.
Also, I've offered a place to stay with some of my STB brothers but I can't accommodate everyone. I already got 3 girls in my house and adding STB dudes will just add more girls to the fire XD
The venue is RIGHT next to 3 or 4 hotels and are fairly priced. I'm going to see if I can't get a group discount for all of you at at least one of them.
Any other questions? Concerns?
As of this moment, no outside donations are necessary but TOTALLY would help the event in its entirety. I'm linging up a date with the venue tomorrow and will update you guys when I find out. It's so awesome to see all the hype coming forth. I don't care to 0-2 every match lol If this event is a success and a community is born... I consider it all worth it!Finally happy to hear of a local game scene I can actually travel to. It will be a relieve to finally not be a online warrior no more. Are there any need of donations to help keep it off?
Thumbs UP, brotherStoked for this to be a recurring event. Southeast scene HYPE!
