It's racist to want the original character?Racist people finally won.
Now turn Ermac brown and Kenshis adopted son Takeda yellow since he is in reality Hsu Haos son.

People cried about her skin color and ethnicity so its technically racist even tho not really in a negative way. It's racist to want the original character?
MJ had vitiligo, that's why he was bleaching his skin. MJ didn't want white spots all over his skin, so he just bleached it. I don't know about his nose.NRS did what's best for business. When I first saw Tanya this was my mental picture:
Yes, because MJ had a disease in real life, Tanya is a cartoon character that can be made into anything, Tanya original look was of a dark skinned black woman. Why change it now?People cried about her skin color and ethnicity so its technically racist even tho not really in a negative way.
I liked the old design too because i dont care what skin color she has.
Its like hating on Michael Jackson because he wasnt black anymore
She looked like that in Deception because the 3D MK games ran on Renderware, the same engine used for the GTA3-era games, and was never designed to put heavy emphasis on character models. Any features you have interpreted as "typical African-American" are a fluke. Are Rockstar arbitrarily required to note and recreate the features on Hispanic women based on this?

Get out of here.
She had that Sammy JuiceNRS did what's best for business. When I first saw Tanya this was my mental picture:
Look, I think that it is great that you see Tanya as black and that you can indentify with it and it makes you feel good. But you have to accept that not everyone sees her that way and has the exact same opinion and perception as you do. Some people see her as mixed, some see her as Indian, some as Middle eastern, some as Brazilian, some see her as nothing but a dark skinned Edenian. An Indian seeing her as Indian and identifying with that doesnt take anything away from you and you have no right to say that they are wrong for thinking it. She is a type of ambiguous character with no set labels that allows for that kind of broad appeal. It just comes down to someones personal perceptions and thats what makes characters like her so cool.Tanya looked black in both MK4 and MKD. Now she looks like the originals in MKX.
You can't see it the way you want when it's clear Tanya's black. She's not ambiguous in MK4 and MKD. I didn't disrespect you, or anyone for that matter, no need to get upset over my comments.Look, I think that it is great that you see Tanya as black and that you can indentify with it and it makes you feel good. Well now you said that, i do remember about being few dark skin people in fighting games. I understand people want at least a bit more of dark skin characters in fighting games now that you said it like it. Looking back, there is hardly much dark skin fighters in games, and you are right, we could use some more.It matters because it's only a few black people in fighting games. Elena, Balrog, Dudley, Birdie, Tanya, Jax, Jacqui, Cyrax, Tj combo, D jay, Jade. Eddy and Christie. It's sad i can name 90% of the black fighting game characters. I can't name all the white characters, it's just to many to name. When you whitewash one the black characters. it hurts because i want to see myself in a character. it's wrong because it takes away one of the only blacks in gaming, telling people light is right. If there were alot of blacks in fighting games, it would not matter as much.
I actually agree with @AcCooper20 statement. I never saw her black, just a Dark skinned Edenian race. I'm sure other saw her Native American, and other seen her Brazalian. Honestly I don't think anyone is wrong. It's just how you see her. There is no right or wrong. I just never seen her as African American so I didn't understand what the big issue was to make her black. You can't see it the way you want when it's clear Tanya's black. She's not ambiguous in MK4 and MKD. I didn't disrespect you, or anyone for that matter, no need to get upset over my comments.
They lighted her skin alot because she was dark skinned again. Black or not, but it's common sense she black in MK4. Ed boon would not give her a nose and lips like Jax and Kai if she were indian or some other brown person. It is not about her being black. Being black has nothing to do with it. Black is not the only race where skin lightening is an issue.
It's the fact that they lightened her skin. That's what the issue is. That's always been the issue.
Native American don't look like Tanya in MK4 with big lips and nose. A Brazalian person that looks like Tanya is black or mixed with black. it's nothing ambiguous about it. Only thing that's ambiguous is why some don't want Tanya to be black.I actually agree with @AcCooper20 statement. I never saw her black, just a Dark skinned Edenian race. The issue is not about her being black. She could have been any of the things you listed, but it doesn't change the fact that lightening her skin was the issue.I actually agree with @AcCooper20 statement. I laughed way harder at this than I should have.NRS did what's best for business. When I first saw Tanya this was my mental picture:
She clearly a black Egyptian. The issue is not about her being black. She could have been any of the things you listed, but it doesn't change the fact that lightening her skin was the issue.
WOC hardly have any type of varying representation in video games. You'll almost always see light skinned women. What they did with Tanya originally just wasn't right.
And how can you guys not see that her being Native American or Brazilia/Latina makes no sense whatsoever when looking at her redesign which is clearly Egyptian?
I never said Native American/Brazilian made no sense..? I had no issue with her new design besides the fact she looked like she had a man face. I just always saw Tanya as a tanned Edenian from the past. The issue is not about her being black. She could have been any of the things you listed, but it doesn't change the fact that lightening her skin was the issue.
