Normalize grab immunity.
There was little-to-no frame delay for me, the only thing I was noticing was frame skipping/stuttering visually.
Sounds just like rollback with a low frame setting. The only way I'd be more hyped for if it capcom announces that we'd be able to set frame delay and connections would be shown as ping numbers.

I got one match in, and god, the netcode is amazing. There was little-to-no frame delay for me, the only thing I was noticing was frame skipping/stuttering visually. Everything felt as if I was playing the training mode.
I noticed the frame stutter/skipping as the camera moved around, but only in the match that had the bad connection. I definitely feels like rollback netcode, which is good. I hope it lets you adjust the rollback buffer like Skullgirls, because I prefer the mostly smooth gameplay of having that buffer set to ~2 frames.

The netcode was great from what I played. I just wish they would open up the servers more to allow more players. Error 21007 is seriously pissing me off lol
They will be letting more players in soon. They are letting players in slowly to try to keep the servers from crashing. They don't want everyone to jump on at once while the servers are having issues.

The netcode will be amazing, I can feel it. If you've been paying attention to everything ComboFiend has been saying about this game for the last half year, it really does sound like Capcom are taking online play very seriously this time around (as is evidenced by an online only beta).

From what I understand the netcode is already pretty damn good, and it'll only get better when the beta starts to actually work globally and they acquire all the necessary data for fixes and improvements. I'm not usually one to sing Capcom's praises but so far they seem to have really gotten their act together with this game.
I completely agree. Like I was reading what others were saying on the Street Fighter Reddit, it seems like a whole new Capcom. The fact they are taking online seriously and their communication with the fans is great. And he was doing that last night as well. Great communication so far.

You don't give capcom dat MAX CPM.

It is Rollback netcode, they announced it not to long ago during their Evo panel. I don't know about the frame-setting though. It could change depending on what connection you get. Like I said, I only played one match and I don't know what connection we were getting. The frame skipping/stuttering wasn't insanely bad though. I could play just fine.
I hope there isn't just one setting. That might cause that stuttering to get crazy in laggier matches. Really hope the next beta phase allows invites. Then we could really test the connection.

Honestly, the game feels more like older Street Fighter games than SFIV ever did.

As for getting in, it seems to be a region thing as most people who were getting in easily were from California.

Infiltration was trying to get in and stream as well, but he kept getting bodied by the any button.

There was an internal stress test this weekend and people were able to get in. Here are a few matches of mine (using Chun) that I recorded off screen.

Guys seriously im losing my shit with this game... plz tell me that im not the only one this crap is happening to.

Playing against a Ryu player he was full screen tossing fireballs, i was inchin myself forward being patient cause i had a good life lead... took 3 fireballs to the face while blocking, now when i say took, it literally was a hit not a blocked fireball ( he was not in denjin before anyone asks, and my block bar was fine)

Playing a Chun Li player i was about to win he had 1% life (one hit to kill) i had something like 20% did a low to the ground DiveKick EX (i play cammy for those wondering) the Divekick lans exacly how i wanted it to, just so i could jab and grab... as soon as he blocks my divekick he ultras, i didnt even press anything else after the Dive kick but, as its obvious i got hit and killed by his ultra... I do the Divekick like that all the time and never ever got punished i dont even think you can punish a low ground Ex Divekick if blocked...

And the last thing that happened to me was against a pretty good Charlie, he was doing strings, into the target combo and overhead thingy i cant remember the name to... i blocked that same set of offence a million times before, yet this time i got randomly opened up in the middle of the string, and im standing there going WTF?!?!?

anyone having anything similar happen? And before anyone tells me i just suck or i need to lvl up, This has nothing to do with skill...

Could be instances of rollback skipping you a lot. Otherwise, that's really weird.

Hey guys, the second beta for SFV is fast approaching and I know a lot of you are eager to know when the festivities begin. As this is the first time we’re testing cross-platform play between PS4 and PC, as well our character delivery system, you will want to keep track of the times below to fully maximize your beta experience.



Beta 2 schedule (subject to change):

  • 10/21/15 18:00 PST (10/22 02:00 BST/10:00 JST) – The second SFV beta begins for PS4 users. Characters available: Ken, Necalli, Vega, R. Mika
  • 10/22/15 14:00 PST (22:00 BST/ 10/23 06:00 JST) – Servers down for scheduled maintenance for 12 hours.
  • 10/23/15 02:00 PST (10:00 BST/18:00 JST) – Servers back online. Rashid unlocked.
  • 10/23/15 09:00 PST (17:00 BST/ 10/24 01:00 JST) – The second SFV beta begins for both PC and PS4 users (cross-platform play).
  • 10/23/15 17:00 PST (10/24 01:00 BST/09:00 JST) – Karin unlocked.
  • 10/24/15 04:00 PST (12:00 BST/20:00 JST) – Servers down for scheduled maintenance for 10 hours.
  • 10/24/15 14:00 PST (22:00 BST/ 10/25 06:00 JST) – Servers back online.
  • 10/25/15 16:00 PST (10/26 0:00 BST/ 08:00 JST) – Beta 2 concludes.
Alright guys, this covers the times worth noting. If you’re interested in the content that will be on display during the second beta, you can check out my previous post here. And yes, for those of you wondering after reading my previous blog, we did move up the start time for PC users so that they will have an extra day of beta participation.

Lastly, let’s not forget that this is a beta. That said, players may experience some issues during their playtime, which we’ll be monitoring. All the information received during the beta is to help ensure the final product is as optimized as possible.
So it looks like Wednesday I'll be playing Vega, Rashid on Friday and Karin over the weekend. Hopefully things will go a little smoother this time.

That's about right.
To any one that will play the beta on PC; Can you tell me how it runs and what hardware you have? I'm looking to throw together a cheap PC for this game and some others for next year.

So, I was able to log into the Beta this morning before it quickly booted me. I guess they are testing a few things to prepare for tonight. It has you set up your Capcom Fighters Network account by selecting your region and nickname. Then it takes you to the stage select screen. They have most of the new stages there for you to select for training. The character select screen had Necalli, Vega and R. Mika available. I'm sure Ken will be added by tonight. I was quickly booted from the server as soon as I got into an actual match. Guess I'll wait till the official start time :(.

I'm getting a unable to log into game server [2100e] error message at the moment, but... Been on and in the lab all morning, had some matches [I suck!] Feels really good so far. More playable for me to fight someone in Japan on this Beta then someone local to me online in MKX. Most of my matches have been VS Japan so far, one VS Canada.

I was able to get 15 matches total, the netcode this time around feels MUCH better, thankfully.
Surprisingly enough, I'm enjoying R. Mika way more than I ever expected, she's definitely more fun to play than Ryu (even though I hate her design to death). Her pokes are amazing!
My only loss so far came from @LiangHuBBB (GG, man!). Even though he's on the other side of the planet, the match wasn't that bad, as he was able to use Necalli's shoryuken-like-move (no idea what's its name) every time I tried to recklessly jump in on him. Honestly I was jumping like a retard even after being punished several times. >.>
Anyways, can't wait to get back home and play more matches. The game's just too good.

Ahhhhhhh I need to get home asap! Is it still only 3 characters? Also, the training mode doesn't involve online so you can jump right into it?

Correct. You can even pick your training stage now, and you'll be in the lab between opponents found for you. After the fights... right back to the lab with all the dummy/recording options you could want.

Still 3 characters last time I was in. Seems to still be down for me anyway at the moment. Sure they'll get it back up soon, could just be my area [of course that would include you too, lol]

The most need to know question. Can you do two player practice mode?? :eek:

Haven't tried it and can't get on to confirm [still down] but, there is a human/controller setting for the dummy so it seems like you can.
