As we scrape for anything new in the world of Mortal Kombat... sometimes all we find are crumbs.

Anyone who has followed the Mortal Kombat games over the years knows that two characters in particular are basically shoe-ins. These characters being Scorpion and Sub-Zero; the two rivals and seemingly most popular characters in the game regarding their dramatic story line. Well, so far we are one for two as Boon has confirmed via twitter that Scorpion will be in the next Mortal Kombat, that is... "IF" they are making one.

He is the company logo. He's pretty much the main/most popular guy. If you ask most randomers to name a MK character it's Sub-Zero or Scorpion.

MK3 was basically an unfinished version of UMK3 where Scorpion was always intended to be in.

Guys half the cast is dead from mk9 incl kitana and liu kang etc. if they play off of the last story line, maybe we'll get a chance to see some other chars like Tanya ashrah nitara bo rai cho etc

While true, that was only because Midway were giving Daniel Pesina (the original sprite actor for Cage/Scorpion/subsequent palette swaps) the Chris Benoit treatment so to speak. I don't think NRS will be taking any chances like that again lol.

Depends on how you look at it, technically there's been a Sub-Zero in every MK game, but that'd be combining Bi-Han and Kuai Liang. I think next in line would be Liu Kang who only missed out on MKDA which is attributed to Scorpion replacing him as the face of MK officially.
