There is nothing gimmicky about Shang. You say gimmicky cause you don't understand the char. It's pretty straight up actually: Control the screen w/up fireballs/ground fireballs/straight fireballs. Up ball gives you a LOT of frame adv on block. Close skull HAD (until this patch) 11 frame tracking to catch crossovers and teleports.
Close ground skull on block also gives frame adv.
And spin, saying NW is not near the top tier, or top tier, is just silly. There was a NW top 16 at Nationals, I've placed high w/him twice, all over the NW forums users are posting up about getting at least 2nd at their tournament scene. Just because NW isn't as common as Raiden/KL/Reptile/Kano doesn't make him not top, or at the very least, very close to it. So I'll assume you and betty will be coming thurs?
