Combo List - Kung Jin RM NoBrows's Kung Jin (Ancestral) combo guide

I started playing Ancestral about a week ago and I fell in love with this variation when I started messing around with it. It's a lot more challenging, but more rewarding IMO. All of these combos are meterless, excluding the one x ray combo. all these combos range from 28-52%.


Combo Notations
ji- jump in
ia- instant air
rc- run cancel
b- back
f- forward
d- down
njp- neutral jump punch


Combos
(0:0-0:07)- stun arrow, b214 low arrow, load fire arrow, dash forward njp, step forward 34, ia ji3 divekick, rc 34 low arrow- 34%
(0:08-0:16)- stun arrow, b14 low arrow, load fire arrow, dash forward njp, step forward 34 ia ji divekick, rc 34 low arrow- 29%
(0:17-0:26)- stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow, dash forward njp, step forward 11, rc 34, ia ji divekick, rc 34 low arrow- 30%
(0:27-0:33)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, 4 up arrow, 34, 34 low arrow- 36%
(0:34-0:43)- (corner) stun arrow, b14 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, 4 up arrow, 34, ia divekick, 34 low arrow- 38%
(0:44-0:50)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp d2, ia ji divekick, rc 34 low arrow- 30%
(0:51-0:58)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, ji 4 down arrow, 343 low arrow- 33%
(0:59-1:06)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, ji 1 ji4 down arrow, 343 low arrow- 33%
(1:07-1:15)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp d2, 34, ia ji divekick, rc 34 low arrow- 33%
(1:16-1:24)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, nj down arrow, ji4 down arrow, 11, ia divekick, 34 low arrow- 37%

(1:35-1:43) (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, 4 up arrow, 11, ia ji4 divekick, 34 low arrow- 37%
(1:44-1:51)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, ji4 down arrow, ji4 down arrow, 34 low arrow- 35%
(1:52-2:00)- (corner) stun arrow, f24 low arrow, load fire arrow njp, ia straight arrow, ji4 down arrow, 11, ia divekick, 34 low arrow- 37%
(2:01-2:15) fire arrow, ji4 down arrow, 34 xray- 52%

Other than the last combo, the starting string for the ones starting with a 50 50 (f24, b14) can be interchanged with one another for the same damage. starting with 111 or b214 gives you 3% more damage in the total combo. Hopefully this helps people trying to pick up ancestral KJ!

Is it possible replace all those fire arrows in the corner with the meter steal arrows? :0

I like those 3 arrow combos for meter steal, their great and never seen them before.
I think 4-up arrow iadivekick 343~load stun arrow is probably best as it also works off 343 starter and is easy but for those with great execution the one at 0:34 might be optimal.

Was anyone able to duck a projectile with the low arrow I thought it was suppose to be his buff in this patch
You can I tested it, but it's different timing with each character, and said character's projectile must be a high hitting one.

I tried against sub ice ball but I wasn t able to duck it with the low arrow no matter my timing but I was able to neutral duck it
I'll post a vid later today or tomorrow showing it. I first tried it on sub so I know it works on him
 
thx I was able to duck some projectile but the ice ball seems to be a problem for me when should I duck it when it s mid when it s lunched?

It should be pretty close to you before you do it because KJ doesn't stay in the ducking stance that long for low arrow

I'm guessing vampire arrows > fire arrows correct? Vampire arrows take meter on block! Way to good lol
 
Can someone spar with me or give me a link to a kung jin ancestral fight I need to see how I m suppose to use him I m on xbox and my GT is takgillo

The combo at 0:34 seconds is a very good corner combo. You can also end it in 11 into b4(sweep) for the HKD. It's 35% so you sacrifice the 3% for a HKD.

Edit: or you can go 11 into EX grab for a nice reset.

Edit#2: just found out throw is a HKD(I'm such a noob lol) with 11 into throw ender the combo is 37% with HKD. Though, sweep still provides just a tad bit more frame advantage .

Edit#3: don't know why I didn't think of this earlier but I just did 11 into 34 low arrow for 39%.(reffering to the same combo mentioned in my post)

I like to stick with 11xxload arrow as a combo ender but that's just my preference I'm sure there are more like 34.

Block string into arrow I wouldn't know what to say. I need to lab him more.
