Fujin!
Since some people may misunderstand this post doesn't include real information. It is a place to discuss and make jokes about a potential worst case scenario when it comes to the reveal event. Don't take it seriously, thanks.
"Gear stats and moves are back, but this time you can't turn them off because we are making them competitive. However, you will still need to find gear moves in loot boxes -- this time they are called "Kombat Boxes!". You will only be able to get these special boxes by hitting milestones in Ranked play or by gambling Koins in the Krypt, but don't worry, you can also buy them with real world currency to speed things up a little. For those of you who are wondering: unfortunately we weren't able to develop a way to practice against gear pieces you don't own, so you must own the gear you want to practice with, assign it to a loadout, then choose that loadout when going into practice. We know this is an inconvenience, but we believe it's only a small one when you consider the fact that you can buy Kombat Boxes for only $0.99 apiece! Just note that all contents are random and you aren't guaranteed a gear move in your boxes**
Moving on, aside from the default loadout that every character has from the start, there are no Variations you can pick from right from the get go. You must make them! And we encourage you to do so since the base loadout/Variation is actually kinda bare bones and under-powered, so it's worth playing Ranked games, gambling, or spending real money to earn these Kombat Boxes to really level up your characters -- they can end up being three, maybe even five times as powerful when you do that. It really feels like you are raising your own little Shao Kahn (and to my opponents: you better not hurt him!)... Oh by the way, don't forget to pre-order the game so you can get Shao Kahn and play him day one. While you are at it, go ahead and get the Premium Edition. It includes the Kombat Pack, which will give you access to 6 characters (plus one week early access), 7 gear sets (1 for each DLC character plus Shao Kahn), and 7 skins: MK4, Deadly Alliance, Deception, MK9, MKX, Injustice, and Infrared outfits for Scorpion!
Mortal Kombat 11 also includes:

Mortal Kombat 11 also includes:
- 26 playable characters (base game). Enjoy the same fan-favorite roster from Mortal Kombat X, but this time with updated visuals and new customization options. Also includes 2 new playable characters. Additional characters such as Shao Kahn sold separately.
- Story mode. The duration of the story has been reduced so we can make it more content rich: including new and improved quick time events, playing the story will really make you FEEL like Batma- I mean Scorpion.
- Towers! Arcade, Test Your Might, and other Klassic towers have been replaced with more modern and streamlined Towers. All featuring random Custom Kombat Modifiers, play through these constantly updated towers to unlock Kombat Kard customization pieces.
- Online features the same (and oh we mean the same) modes you've played including our standard Ranked Mode!
- Unreal Engine 4's power is unleashed by all of our Unreal Engine 3 assets that we ported over in this new engine. The same characters, stages, and moves you know and love are intact but with shiny new lighting and UE4 standard input delay! "
