If there was a geographical skill gap, EC would have had 6 out 8 placing at EVO. That's the only true melting pot Major that has occurred thus far. One can't measure EC vs WC off of majors where a scene shows up with 4-5 dudes representing it in a 200 man tournament.

You could say the same thing about the EC sending 4-5 players to the MidWest for UFGT, but they won. Then they went to Vegas and won. They have bragging rights until someone else grabs the throne!

Sure, but that doesn't change the fact that when the EC went to Vegas they still grabbed the top spot. There is a LOT of talent in the West, but until they can grab a tourney the EC has a rightful claim to supremacy for now.

You can't really separate East Coast from itself. It'd be as unfair as saying that MK9 at EVO wasn't a West Coast victory since Denzell did so much better than everyone else.

But if you're honest, KDZ and Chris G have been representing for the EC. So it's up to the other regions to show that they can beat both of those guys when it counts.

If the West Coast won nearly every major for MK9, I'd agree with you that they were dominating the game. But in IGAU the EC is laying claim to supremacy, including a win at EVO in the WC's backyard, and it's up to the WC to change that moving forward.
