Ranked in MK11

Well, I'm kinda confused right now.
Had the game first yesterday, and I've been in the practice mode with Frost, using the variation that comes.
Then, I jump on ranked, variation number 1 too and it's... different I'm confused at this point and try to change it, but apparently it can't be done.
More than that, skills appart, i do not see a way to change appearance and use it in ranked.
Am i blind, or am i missing something?

I can adapt to whichever abilities, but not being able to alter the skin in ranked Sounds really stupid to me.

Ranked variations have their own skins and gear as far as I know, probably to make them easier to recognize like in MKX.

I was so pissed when I saw that I can’t change or use my skin in the tournament mode. What the fuck is wrong with NRS is beyond me. First they make you grind for your favorite skin only to take it away from you in the TM.

The costume of your first default loadout is your costume in ranked. Just edit that and your Ranked costume will match
